Re: Bypassing 5/24?

You dont need DDA for preapprovals

If you are over 5/24, it will be auto denial because there is no override in place.

Chase currently ain't playing nice with reconsiderations when denial reason is exceeding 5/24.

Your only options are to wait and see if you ever get a preaporoval/prequalification or a trip to the branch to see if you have in branch preapproval which has the ability to override 5/24.

Cold app is just a waste of couple HPs with nothing to show for it. Also, with new elevated offer, they wont suffer for new customers, so really, no incentive to consider us app happy people.

So I can walk into a branch and see if I have any preapprovals, without having a checking/savings account?

i may bite the bullet and take the $500 checking/savings offer anyway.
Still debating.

$500 is more than I'll earn over the next 3 months with that $15k sitting in my Marcus account at 1.05% APY. I guess it's kind of a no brained. Just have to keep both accounts open for 6 months. After 3 months, I'll move my money back into Marcus.

If I do open those accounts how long w
ould you recommend waiting to check for preapprovals.. Or does it matter to wait at all?

If you open accts in branch, rep can check then for preapprovals. They have been known to be denied, but best odds through branch. That's not to discourage, just that in branch aren't a guarantee with green checkmark

Yes, you can. Even if you have only credit card accounts, you're still Chase customer.

I'd avoid opening account because its pointless, Chase is not easily impressed, until that  figures start showing up

Smaller amounts (enough to qualify for CPC) are just training wheels for what comes later.

So you're saying not to open checking/savings only for the $500 SUB? I definitely won't be using them after I passed the 6 month minimum to keep them open for claw back. All my CC bill pay cash, and rainy day savings is with NFCU, long term savings is with Marcus.

You can open it, but it wont help with card approval.

Are we talking about the sign-up bonus for opening a savings account? Because that is something different here than credit cards

My main focus for the post was to discuss beating 5/24. I was simply asking for clarification on the checking/savings SUB regarding what he was saying.

Back to the CC discussion.

Then I agree with her, you can open it and nab the bonus from opening the savings account but it really won't help you with credit card approvals if you're already past 5/24

Re: Bypassing 5/24?

I believe I have read about approvals above 5/24 happening with prequalified offers showing up in the Chase mobile app. Under Credit Journey >  Personalized Offers.

It may just be rumors/lies as I can't confirm, or out of date.
