@Anonymous wrote:How hard is it to get the Chase Sapphire Preferred card? Typically what kind of credit profile gets approved for this card? I currently have a TU score of 693 and a little on the high utilization currently because of a pet emergency that came up, BUT, even with that I was just approved for a Discover It card with a $6k limit and approved for the AMEX Green card. I really like what the Chase Sapphire Preferred offers and really want this card. So I'm just reaching out to ask how hard is it to get.
Thank you ahead of time for your responses and any feedback I can get as to what to do to put me in a situation to get this card.
They seem to pull EX/TU a lot. So...what's your EX look like?
Also, what about your AAoA?
I'm not too sure what my EX score looks like but I can look it up.
I'm new to the message board so I'm not familiar with AAoA. What is that?
Average. Age. of. Accounts.
My AAoA is 4 years.
If your EX is any good, I'd say go for it. Worst you can do if approved is $5,000 SL.
I was approved for the CSP with 680 FICO, AAoA 6 Months. Oldest account 11 months.
I got a banking relationship with Chase for over one year and was using the Chase Amazon Visa for 7 months.
Was approved for 8.000$ CL

Ron.
Are you talking about a one time experience or is this regular? Could it just be your region? I know some banks double pull in some regions (Citi ALWAYS double pulls me even though they don't for most). If Chase is double pulling now that will suck.
I think it's just whatever they want to do. I've 3 Chase cards.
Slate April 2012 EX
Freedom July 2013 EX & TU
CSP May 2014 EX
My partner got approved for Freedom last month & they doubled EX & TU on him for that product just like they did me.
To the OP you have a chance & I would see if you are pre approved for any other Chase cards first.

This would be a good barometer OP. Have you tried their pre-approval portal? Notwithstanding, if it yields no offers, you can always just apply for it and see. YEMV.
