Hi everyone,
I was reading some posts about calling in and requesting CLI or APR drop like once in 6 month, etc.
So, I just hit 1 year mark with my Discover IT card, which was secured originally and then unsecured + CLI to 2000$ after 7 months and then also 3 months later I got another auto CLI to 2600$. APR never changed yet.
Also, I got Chase Freedom Unlimited 4 months ago, today was a cut date. I understand that Chase is rarely granting CLI without hard pull.
So, the question is, should I call in to any or both my banks and ask for soft pull CLI and/or APR drop !? Will this be helpful at this stage?
I know that I can reqeust CLI with Disco online but that never actually works for me so far.
Also, I am planning on applying for Citi Costco next month, will all of this above be helpful to get it if successful ?
Another question is, I am moving from CA to TX next months as well. So should I apply for Citi Costco when I am in CA or TX, considering life expenses in both states, do I have more chances or will I be more eligible for Citi Costco Card in TX ?
Thank you
Unfortunately, Chase does not lower APRs by request. These are periodically reviewed to determine if your account qualifies - no set period. As a side note, these are typically automatic and fairly rare.
Chase CLIs are always HP, unless your account has a special promotion either by email notification or when calling for special offers. Otherwise, CLIs can be automatic depending on a variety of factors (usage, length of time, internal score, etc.). Aside from that, HP is the route.
As far as the Costco Visa, approval criteria is not dependent on your state of residence. It will be determined by your overall profile, income, scores, etc. You can decide on whether waiting would help, which in most cases it can, depending on where you are in your credit journey.
Thank you!
Do you know if Discover lower APR by request?
