Very true @Anonymous. And, while we're not privvy to the inner workings of how their algorithms target certain profiles, sometimes it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.
Just a day ago, another poster shared their unfortunate yet interesting experience with their Chase Amazon CC getting shut down after submitting a recent Chase application. Just one of those things to consider + have a good strategy in place and definitely do plenty of research before pulling the trigger.
IMO, you'll get the CSP when the right time comes.
Thanks @FinStar. Yes I did see that post yesterday. I read through some previous posts as well. Sadly, I did not do my due diligence and researched first before putting in the app. Now I am not saying that I am safe. Since it could happen any time now that they've reviewed my account. Crossing my fingers, but I think one indication that I may be safe was that the denial for the CSP was not because of the dreaded "Unsatisfactory relationship with Chase" which is the typical reason following an account closure for the first account.
I believe my only saving grace if at all was that my last application prior to the CFU was a year ago. And I only had one inquiry on both TU and EX when this app was submitted. A few things I noticed while reading through posts, as to what may have initiated the PRR process and what may have lead to the closures on some.
- New Chase Card members (usually month 3 onwards, you start getting those prequals and green check marks)
- Young and thin files (based on the posts i've read, it ranges from 9 mos. to 2 years in AAoA)
- Applied for a number of credit cards before submitting their application for a second Chase card. (regardless if below 5/24)
So I hope this does help someone in the future. So they don't risk themselves of wasting a HP or worst getting their accounts closed. It's easy to push that button, "Think before you click"
