I feel like most of us here are like that, yet people always seemed obsessed with APR. I have one card that I would possibly carry a balance on in case of an emergency, and that is the simmons first with 6.25%
Well it is not that people are obsessed with APR. For many getting a low APR it is an accomplishment after years working on their credit. Also it is an indicator that you have a "good standing" (profile) with the bank which in the future can translate into low APR for loans such as mortgages and personal loans.
What did yours go to?

This I can understand. All about prespective and goals. OP, please let us know if you app and how it turns out. I am interested in what Chase's gameplan is going forward with the APR change.

I forgot my prediction for OP. I'm going to predict 15 to 20K if you app now. more if you wait it out.
I haven't carried a balance on a non "0" percent card since I started reading Myfico in April of last year and therefore I have never carried a blance on my CSP and I don't plan on it. I just found it odd that I was preaprove for the 15.9... APR and that's what it said on all my paperwork when I recieved the card and yet, it went up when the feds changed the rates. I get changing the min after the rates go up, but I thought my rate was fixed months before it went up.

+1 this exactly.

No one "plans" on carrying a balance. You want low APR's in case you come back from Europe and your house has burned down.

Agree no one plans on carrying a balance, but mise well have the best terms if you do have to carry one for the oh shiz moments in life.. Amex at 8.x apr for the win, although last card I would want to carry a big balance on, but if push comes to shove I wouldn't blink twice for that apr if needed to!
