I applied for Chase Sapphire Preferred about a week ago and was denied due to not enough accounts open for not enough time.
I have one authorized user card reporting to my credit - the account in question is an amex, 9 years old, has never had a late payment and has a current credit limit of about $6k and current util of ~3%. I have an auth user business cc with Cap1 now but it does not seem to report to my credit.
My FICO8 by Experian is 708, FICO8 by TransUnion is 750, and FICO8 by Equifax is 734. My only recent (4-5months) inquiry is for my current CSP application and my prior hard inquiries are for my cable bill, bank account, and two other denied applications for Chase Slate and Capital One Spark Business (~Nov 2015-Jan 2016). I do have consistent income as well as a checking/savings account with Chase.
Anyone have experience with getting CSP as a first/second card? I've really wanted this specific card for a while now and just want to know if I should even bother with a reconsideration without having to open a different card and sit on it for a long time.

Completely understand your interest in them but Chase absolutely positively does not like being one of your first credit card accounts as it stands.
They most often rather prefer at least (1) year history with other credit card account(s) showing in your profile.
I wouldn't be so let down though, that's simply something about them you weren't aware of yet.
Some of us also run up against this very same thing when trying Chase early on and was met with the same result so you would do much better to build first with other lenders approved cards and build your history with them before approaching Chase.
I was approved for a Chase Freedom while only having 1 credit card at the time, although my credit report from myfico mentioned a 2nd card, a store cc that was closed 15 yrs ago. But they most likely have stricter rules about the CSP. Maybe try getting a freedom, having that for 6 months or so, then applying again for CSP. Both cards can contribute to your UR points total. Everyones situation is different as well. Good luck!
OP with your thin file...I would try both Discover and Cap One personal cards..check the Cap 1 prequal site...The Venture and Quicksilver would good cards and grow well and so does Discover..let those age 6 months to a year (pref the year) then go back for the CSP

Honestly, they could give me a $100 CL (not possible, I know) and I would still love that card to death
A year isn't too long, I will consider Cap1 Quicksilver I think, but I'm not 21 so they can't give me prequals according to their site. I did think outside the Chase box a little, going to read around and if it seems possible I might take a poke at the Citi Costco visa, I can see myself using that long-term before retrying CSP. If anyone has approval odds input on that one I'd love to hear it
(Thanks y'all for the advice! I really appreciate it ^^)
Here is another idea that you might like to try when you do go for that CSP card either on recon or in the future.
Since you already have i assume as you suggest an established checking/savings with Chase if it was me i would go into a branch and just discuss your interest in person with someone at a desk, and explain how you understand that they have certain rules for different card products and express to them your motivation for the interest that you have in that product and ask straight out what they prefer to see and how long it might take before you qualify for it.
That one on one correspondence with them could help step up things for you maybe, but at least it would let them know where you stand and why. Sometimes even if no immediate result or joy comes of it, matters still can tip things to your favor somewhere sooner down the line.
