CSR and CSP applications

Can anyone in this valuable community help me with advice on the following:

If one applies for the CSR card ( no pre qualified offer on my on line account) and then  receives a denial or the dreaded 7- 10 message etc, can one right away turn around and apply for the CSP card (a  pre qualified offer for this one IS  on my on line account) without incurring a double HP ? Is it not better to try for the CSP first and then the CSR?  If not, would getting a knock back on the CSR application cause a possible follow on knock back on the subsequent CSP application?  Appreciate any feed back from both personal experience to the above, as well as opinions. Thank you.

Re: CSR and CSP applications

As far as I know, Chase will not show anyone a prequal online for the Sapphire Reserve. If you're prequalified for the CSP, you should be good to go for the CSR.  And looking at your signature, you're an easy approval for them (especially if you're still 4/24).

Re: CSR and CSP applications

Thank you for your helpful response. I am close to taking the plunge for the CSR, even though I see so many failed attempts in this forum since the card's launch just 2 months ago.

Will advise outcome once I plunge.

Re: CSR and CSP applications

Just a quick update report. I applied on line just now for the Chase Sapphire Reserve ( as per my post CSR  and CSP applications). I was happily surprised. Instant approval. CL 31k. Thanks to all for your advise
