Can’t get approved for capital one

I’m not sure why I seem to be unable to get a capital one card as I’m still waiting on my letter in the mail. I have tried between the plat when my score was lower to now the quicksilver and they keep denying me and my scores are decent enough to get approved for a new car loan with the first bank they pulled my score at 757 on trans union but I seen it on here @ 755 and 730 for Experian those should be pretty solid scores to get approved anyone have any issues like this or any ideas as to why?

Yet your signature line says EX 628? You don't know your current Fico scores?

How thin is your file. A thin 757 is not the same as a thick 757.

Do you have a lot of inquires?  They have denied me simply because I had too many inquiries on my Equifax report.

OP
Unfortunately, there’s a misconception that scores are the “be all, end all.” But it’s simply not true. There are so many variables that come into play on whether one gets approved or not approved—number of inquiries, income, DTI, internal scores, overall CLs, UT, AAOA, and AOYA. Also, getting a car loan is not comparable to a CC because the former is secured and the latter is not.

Also, when you get the letter, you’ll know exactly why you were declined.

And, remember, there are more fish in the sea. If Cap1 doesn’t want to open its door, knock on another lender’s door.

Re: Can’t get approved for capital one

Yes Equifax is lower due to still
having some incorrect stuff on it. My aaoa is pretty new 10 months (Experian and transunion), as I basically started all over with my credit . I have Discover ,Amex, my credit union got a card through there , and two web bank accounts (Gettington and Fingerhut) don’t use those anymore really. A couple of starters merrick and credit one and ya I have too many inquiries ,but I’m still awaiting the letter to know their reasoning. Experian and transunion are clean though no collections no lates oldest account is 2 years but thin and newer file since all my old stuff is off my reports now.

Income should be solid as I’m in the six figures territory.

Capital One are savages and they will pull all 3 bureaus for a credit app.  Your EQ score is lower due to a student loan late.  It may be reporting incorrectly but it is still there regardless and Cap One just saw it.  With less than a 2 year credit history, you just mentioned 5 new accounts and you are applying for #6 in a relatively short period of time(at least from their perspective) along with quite a few inquiries from the cards you received and the whatever else you have applied for.  You said it yourself that you have too many inquiries.  I wouldn't be surprised if Capital One lists all of these reasons when you get the letter.  Your income isn't the problem.

Re: Can’t get approved for capital one

Actually my Equifax isn’t able to be pulled as it’s froze til it’s corrected .. So they didn’t even see that so that could end up being the reason but even before I had all the incorrect information removed I had tried capital one I started rebuilding my credit two years ago but most those inquires were from my other car loan I got over a year ago almost two they will fall off in approx 4-5 months...

Well that could be a one of the problems.  I understand about the inquiries on the car loan and although for scoring purposes they are grouped and scored as 1 but the computer that denied you may not see it that way.
