Can't view amex pre-approved; asks for login

I am attempting to see if I am preapproved for a green or platinum charge card. I was originally preapproved for these along with the BCE and one other that I dont remember. I have to apply for a corporate charge card through Amex now and wanted to check if I am still preapproved before applying. When I fill out the form like I used to, it takes me to the login screen for my BCE account. Is there a way to view pre approved offers from here? Should I just call them?

Have you tried clearing cookies on your browser yet??

If you don't want to clear cookies you can open the prequal page incognito or inprivate on your browser. This seems to help some people with this issue.

Also you can use a different device like your phone, laptop or tablet that you haven't visited the site with.

Also, you can log into your current account and look at the list of "Offers."

If one of the "offers" listed for you is an offer for a new card, that is more or less a preapproval indication.  They generally only offer you card(s) that they think they'll actually give you.

If you HAVE a card you CAN'T pre-qual because if you're denied for something you're denied for then it's a SP and not a HP.

There's no need to clear cookies, private mode, or anything else.  Just apply for whatever you want and don't worry about it.

I slightly disagree with this only because AMEX signup bonuses are a one-time deal so you want to maximize that when you can. Difference between getting a 25k signup bonus for 2k spend on a PRG and 50k pt signup bonus for 1k spend on the same card can be huge at times.

I wasn't even talking about bonuses.  Not sure where you picked that up from but, either way you're not pre-qualifying by going to private mode to find a better bonus option.  Now if the question was about bonuses I would have gone down the gammet of how to score the best bonus for the buck.

Re: Can't view amex pre-approved; asks for login

No, what they were saying is that some people are able to go into incognito or private mode and use the standard prequalification page that opens for non card holders and the cards that come up there usually the same cards that are in the "offers" section will give you better bonuses.

For example after I apped for my ED on the "offers" page after I logged in it offered the BCE with 150$ Bonus w/1000$ spend. However when I used my friends laptop and filled out the prequalification tool it offered me 250$ Bonus w/1000$ spend. Thats 100$ gain just from using the tool instead of "offers".

They were just saying there were advantages to using the prequalification tool VS using the "offer" section after login.

I've personally never had any issues with using the prequal tool but I came across a thread once that said it helps to clear cookies or go incognito so I just wanted to share that with the OP in case it helped them. Not sure if that method even works or why that glitch happens.

Re: Can't view amex pre-approved; asks for login

It is possible to get a prequal from AmEx as an existing card member. I did it just a few weeks ago because I was bored and curious. I used Chrome incognito mode. However, about two weeks later my score dropped a few points due to utilization. Tried again after and nada. I get the login page. I posted a thread about this at the time of the initial prequal looking for data points to support my theory that if you get the login page, then you don't have any legitimate prequal offers but data was all over the place.

Best advice I have is to try incognito mode and if you don't get any bites, wait a month or two and try again.

Re: Can't view amex pre-approved; asks for login

Just went through this this weekend actually. Had to go Incognito before the public prequals page actually showed me my offers without making me log in. The bonsues were different than what I had seen previously. I was prequalified for EDC/EDP and Green I believe. Went back into Incognito and looked up EDP and there was a 30K bonus on 2K spend in 3 months. Apped for it and instant approval.
