Cap 1 pre-approve trigger a Soft Pull?

I disagree, while they use a SP to present offers in my experience they don't perform the SP when you fill out the form they use one already on record

This is why people without a prequal can cold app and get approved and why people with a prequal can get denied (especially if their profile changed from the last SP the lender did)

If that is truly what Cap1 does then that is the dumbest sh*t ever. Really? Dont they know scores along with the information on the reports change? I just cant understand why they would use old information on a brand new app. That can't seriously be true, can it? Could that be why I never prequal for anything other than their subprime cards at the moment? Because they are using info from long ago? Come on.

Which part do you disagree with? When I check my reports manually, I see soft inquiries pretty much in line with exactly whenever I do pre-qualify checkers on all the lenders websites.

Do you have any evidence to suggest otherwise?

Re: Cap 1 pre-approve trigger a Soft Pull?

I would have thought that is was a new SP each time. But the only reason why I wonder is because in spare time I've SP a couple different ones a few times a week before and after hug score jumps and positive changes to my reports.

The results stayed the same initially after the changes, then suddenly like 3 weeks or so down the road, the offers got better on each site, reflecting the better reports.

My understanding is if you're currently opted out most won't have a pre-approval offer.

I'm opted out and havn't had luck with any pre-qualify site that ask for the last 4 of your SS#. The only one I was pre-qualified for, Credit One, asked for my complete SS#.

I used the "see if you're pre-qualified for card offers in less than 60 seconds" at Capital One. I've seen no SP from them on my report.

If someone else knows different I'm sure they will chime in.

If you have a fraud alert on your CRs, that will also block pre-qual offers
