Cap One is a pain in the ass with fraud alerts.
Tried a quic pre-qual, it asked for my last 4.
Said they had no offers matchign my info.
I'm guessing this i cause I oppted out years ago
Once NFCU account is opened I'll go an actually apply.
Is there anything wrong with the Platinum card?
I just see everyone go for teh QS/QS1
If I get approved or denied for one, can/should I immediately apply for the other so save a hard pull? (think I read that somewhere here...)?
Nothing wrong with the Plat card, whichever you want is fine. You can try doing a double app. New information though says Cap One may have tightened down to one card per 6 months.

A lot go for the QS1 because of the 1.5% cash back on all purchases. There is an annual fee ($39) attached though. It also has 0% intro APR for 9 months; 23.24% variable APR after that.
The Platinum doesn't have a yearly fee but also doesn't earn rewards. It depends on what you plan to do with the card.
Many use the QS1 to pay their bills, buy groceries, gas, etc. Everyday purchases you would normally use cash or your debit card for. Then pay back those charges weekly all while earning 1.5% back. Using it like a debit card but paying the balance in full each week. I've read Capitol One likes when there is activity with their cards.
Let us know how it turns out for you and good luck!
