Checked prequal site, got the offer for quicksilver and venture at 18%, applied, flat out denied for quicksilver and 7-10 message for Venture!! **bleep**??? Thought those prequals were pretty solid, has things changed lately?

Cap 1 has been tightening things up lately it seems ... lots of normally reliable CLI points are passing with no increases. I'm one year in with a Plat w/rewards (QS card) and according to previous data points I should be getting some CLI love, but I'm not ... "too many recent inquiries." I'm also three months in with a QS1 and I'm getting the same denial code on that, when it used to be that the three month CLI was pretty much a given. 

Now I'm just trying every Friday on both, for a CLI ... eventually it'll happen I'd guess.

Yes I was shocked they are usually pretty predictable. I know nothing is certain with credit but more reliable than most creditors. Usually can get two cards with one pull but the second attempt was flat out denied. Also no cli for over 6 months now not sure what's going on

The 2for1 is been dead at Cap1 for a while now its one new account every 6 months now.

I got pre qualify for two and also thought I could get two apps in on the same day. Apped for one, got approved. Second one got the dreaded 7-10 day message. Received the denial for cap 1 already having a pending/approved new account. Had I know about the 1/6 rule, I would have went after the better card. Oh well. Sorry to hear about the denial.

Oh wow guess I missed the 2-4-1 thingy. Hopefully I can get an approval but the 7-10 days is not a good sign

Strange thing is my Equifax and experian went up 9 and 8 points respectively after inquiry alert. Let's see what TU does

OP, these used to mean you were good for at least one of them unless you had a card less than 6months from them. They are getting tight and not even giving out CLI's. I stopped asking for them and use others who grant me increase every once an while. They dont recon either. With the Venture, I hear they may take a few days to approve, even with the 7-10 day messages(search som eof these on here for more details).

Thanks for the hope Blackswizz750. Just checked again and still prequalified for the same two cards so not sure what it all mean
