Capital One CLI Request

I asked for an increase on my Capital One Quicksilver card. Current limit is $2,800. Asked for $4k and stated my reason was "longer term monthly expenses will increase".

I did not get an immediate decision. Is this the typical response when requesting a CLI from Cap1 ? Says I will hear something in 2-3 days.

It sounds like a denial outcome, unfortunately. When you receive the letter please be sure to share with the community as far as what reason(s) they provided.

Re: Capital One CLI Request

C1 has never been one to give CLIs that often. They often will pull every lame excuse out of the books to prevent you from having one. That just my opinion. Some have been granted increases but I think the majority do not get them.

So got my letter today already.

Denial was due to :

Average monthly payment has been to low and Recent payments on this account have been to low.

Wish is funny, as I dont carry a balance, so of course the payments are low.

Re: Capital One CLI Request

Cap1 just baffles me. Sorry to hear that @socalchef00.

I swear if this weren't my oldest card, I would have closed it a long time ago. I haven't been able to get a CLI since I started using other cards as my primary drivers. Smiley Mad

Right!

This is my second oldest card, 15 years, and I've barely ever gotten CLI's.

Mine started as a platinum with $700 SL, then auto CLI to $1,100, then to $2,100 all inside of a year. I then got a PenFed Visa with $15K SL and began using that as my main card, with good reason. I then requested a CLI to $10K, I believe and they gave me $4,100. A year or so later I requested again to $10K, they gave me $5,100 and that's where it has been for the past 12 years or so. Every time I request a CLI, I get an instant denial.
