I did a preapproval at Capital One and they said I would qualify for SaverOne. So I applied... they wouldn't give me an instant answer, instead asked for copy of my driver's license, which I provided online. It's been 2 weeks and application still says "In progress."
So is this normal and any chance I could still get denied? I already have 2 Capital One cards that were instantly approved last year but this is the one I really wanted for a while now. Plus they already ran my credit which took my FICO down 60 pts from 700 to 640. So not getting it would be devastating in more ways than one.

I would call them to make sure they're okay with the documentation you sent them, they wouldn't have asked if they didn't want to approve you.
you didn't lose 60 points on your FICO score for one inquiry, something else happened

That is a red flag and not caused by a simple inquiry! It is possible that something is reporting as negative or very high uti. Check your report asap. This could be related to Cap1 not approving you yet.
Agree that a 60 pt FICO drop wouldn't come from one inquiry. Check other items on your reports such as utilization, balances, etc..
@acercode do you have any alerts on your credit profile? like a fraud alert? I had a fraud alert on my reports due to some id theft I unfortunately have been dealing with and had to provide capital one with ID, POI, and I think my SS card. There may be more information they are asking for. They required every piece of information for me personally. maybe re read what they sent you?
good luck. it was a PITA.
