I've been getting the same pre-qual offer from Capital One for over a year now... Venture or QS at 18.15%, or Venture One for 17.15% (this takes the December 0.25% Fed increase into account). I've been looking forward to my offer changing to one with a more reasonable APR so I could app, earn the bonus, then roll my existing QS Visa into the new lower-APR card - it would be the best of all worlds.
My scores took a bump a couple of weeks ago and earlier this week I apped for Citi (still no word), was approved for BoA, and was approved for Blispay, none of which are reporting yet.
I know Capital One has been doing some work on their site, so that may have an impact, but these are the only offers I have now:
My TU is 779, my EQ was 739 before the one extra inquiry, and my EX is 751 after three new inquiries (I accessed the EX score after I apped). These are the highest scores I've seen in nearly 20 years, and while I do have a few new inquiries I still have relatively low numbers at EX-6, EQ-4, and TU-3.
Clearly my customized offer is going in the wrong direction.
I was toying with the idea of picking up a Venture next week before checking into the garden, but I'm going to take this as a sign that a Venture isn't meant to be at this point. I'm aware that a cold-app would likely be successful, but I'm not willing to risk three HPs to find out, especially because it would really be for the bonus, anyway (I'm fine with the modest credit lines I have with Capital One). I also have the two mailers with the invitation numbers for the previous offer, but I'm not touching them either.
I'm just sharing this as a data point for anybody else that might be puzzled with the pre-qual; I'm honestly a little perplexed myself. Obviously their algorithm isn't as impressed as I had hoped (and expected) it to be.
I had to go check and for me it still shows the QS and venture with the lowest offered APR (13.24%), so no change for me
I get no offers at all. Been that way for awhile now.

Hmmm... it could be just me, then.
The score update might have 'rebucketed' me as well, in that case in a few weeks it will correct itself. First-world problems, right?
Either way, I have one more possible stop to make then I'll make my way over to the garden. Hopefully I can be 'buzzed in' if I can't find my key to the gate.

Give a shout out and I will let you in, UncleB!
I've only been getting the same two offers (Platinum and QS1) for months. My scores are in the 750 range. I don't know what the problem is.

Ah, so I'm not alone!
It's either rebucketing, or I was on the 'cusp' with inquiries and this week I went over the limit... although I'm sure I've seen folks with worse stats still get the pre-qual.
No worries... I just find it interesting.
Your scores are better than mine and i got the venture this week with with the lower apr
When I check the prequal I get the exact same offer for the Platinum and QS1 and the exact APR, I guess CO is not ready to offer a Venture to me just yet. I have a few credit lines above 5k, I guess they want to see some more age
Perhaps they were using an old SP? Either that or they're just crazy Maybe try it again in a month and see if they come to their senses.
