If creditors cant pull your report, its frozen. Trying to get around Cap One's triple pull usually wont end well.

A freeze is specifically defined as preventing all access to reports including all monitoring tools. However I'm still able to view my own scores and see updates, it's just that lenders can't so it's not a freeze.

How a Security Freeze Works

A security freeze prevents anyone but you from viewing your credit report. Not all states offer security freezes, so check the rules in your state before requesting one. Freezing your credit report means no one can access it or make changes to it. For example, if you apply for an auto loan, the lender won’t be able to check your credit until you unfreeze your account.

Not sure what part of that isn't a freeze to you

Freeze requires paying $5 in MD without police badge but I don't pay anything even without police badge.

Subs trying to game the 3 pull requirement for Cap One by somehow freezing (not sure how hes getting the freezes without paying for them) but as far as COne is concerned its frozen.. and untill they see it your going to see a DENIAL unless you unfreeze it...

Re: Capital One QS declined because Bureau information is unavailable?

I'm going to say again that nothing is frozen. There are other ways to make things inaccessible. Since it was never frozen, things don't need to be unfrozen. Unlike with credit freeze, certain third party can access the reports like my Amex can continue to soft pull my EX . Most importantly, freezing is against TOS of myfico as stated by mods so by not freezing, this conversation is permitted.

Anyways, back to topic.

If CO is permitted access to experian would they just pull that and result in approval? Or would they pull all 3 again and result of 5 hard pulls total? Or it's going to stay denial?

Re: Capital One QS declined because Bureau information is unavailable?

I'm guessing you have your report locked, which is basically the same as a freeze. Your existing creditor's can still SP your report.

Re: Capital One QS declined because Bureau information is unavailable?

I just read up on freezes, locks, fraud alerts, etc. The whole purpose is to keep new accounts from being opened. If there's some level of restricted access on a report, I'd think that step one would be to contact a potential lender before submitting an application and getting direction as to how to proceed. That would beat working with a computer that doesn't know how to deal with the situation and having to try to pick up the pieces later.

Capital One does not recon very well but good luck trying. I'm thinking you will have to reapply and sustain 3 more HP's.

I would suggest doing whatever is necessary to make sure CO can access all three files so you don't lose by playing games again.

That means creditors can't pull it.

Why would you apply knowing Capital One requires all 3 credit files in order to be considered for their credit products knowing Experian would be unavailable for what ever reason?

Re: Capital One QS declined because Bureau information is unavailable?

I have my 3 reports frozen, 2 by paying the fee , the other i can unlock at will due to subscription. I can still see my TU on CK, etc, but cant access my reports for Ex, Eq without unfreezing. Whether or not your reports are frozen or locked, or have fraud alerts, etc, it all becomes mute when it comes down to the fact that Cap One pulls 3 buresus to approve and if anyone has spent enough time on this board, its a known fact. My suggestion to anyone who is looking to app for a Capital One card is to understand you will be receiving 3 hard pulls in order to be granted or denied credit.
