Capital One Question

I've seen a couple of posters mention Capital One not approving within six months of getting a previous card with them.  Do they normally make you wait six months between cards with Cap1?  I just had my Quicksilver $3k approved post BK7 and I'm already getting preapproved Walmart MC letters in the mail.  The back says it may be denied though if you've applied in the last 30 days for another card.  Is it actually six months?  Thanks.

Re: Capital One Question

It usually is 6 months, but not always.  Some people have been approved at 3 months, but it's not too common.  Also, keep in mind because the WM card is co-branded, whatever policies they have on their mainline core cards may not necessarily apply to it.

Definitely wait at least the 30 days.

Re: Capital One Question

I'd wait the 6 months and not increase risk of denial and waste a triple pull. Capital One Routinely states the following

Existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the past 48 months

Re: Capital One Question

wait at least 30 days and try to use the pre approval tool with a soft pull so you dont waste any hard pulls or lower your credit score.

i think its also  like 80% true that if you apply for a new c1 card and just received a CLI after having a C1 acct for 6 mos, you are more likely to be denied bc of the recent CLI although that isn't a reason they usually list.
