Capital One - needing 0% Intro and higher limit!

Alright, So I have a wedding coming up in Jamaica. And I am looking for some 12-15 month credit cards to put a portion of this wedding on so I dont drain my savings all at once. Plus, if I can borrow someone elses money for a period of time to soften the blow I like doing that!

I am looking at the pre qualify site on Capital One adn I got the VentureOne and the QS Rewards. Venture at a 16.99 and QS at 17.99. About right in the middle of what they offer for interest rates.

I looked at Chase, and I am behind a bit on these credit forums but I've had 5 new credit cards in the last year, and the slate, freedom, and Sapphire all show anyways. But rather not waste a HP for a denial or a small limit because of my new credit lines.

I no longer pay for my scores on MyFico since I've repaired but 2 months ago I got a vehicle loan and EQ was 709. And my Barclay gives me a TU score of a month ago of 688. I have no collections on my reports anymore and 2 6 year old judgements on EQ and 1 on TU. CreditKarmaJoke gives me 753/748 haha. I like to use Credit Karma to monitor things. Right now my UTL is 1%. Payment history is 100%. 2-3 years of average history. And 6 credit inquires.

I have a mortgage and auto loan. And an income of 70,000.

Which one do I app for?! Looking for the hopefull higher limit at 0% for 12 months or so. I dont care much about the rewards. The reward to me is 0% for the time period.

I really need to update my siggy. But my highest limit card that I am not an AU on is a Barclay card at 2300. Followed by some 2200 and 1500 accounts. I am an AU on a chase card with an 8500 limit. Chase was my first thought thinking maybe they can see previous payment history or that i am an AU on a higher limit card than what I haev by myself.  but than I read the 5 and 24 month policy.

Re: Capital One - needing 0% Intro and higher limit!

Cap 1 Venture One.

The Venture gives high limits(10,000-20,000 even higher on ocassion) but it does NOT have a 0% APR period.

Venture One might give a 3,000-7,000(or more) limit and DOES have a 0% APR.

Make sure and apply for two cards back to back so you get triple pulled once for two cards. I did Venture then Quicksilver 5 minutes apart. Got 5,000 and 3,000 respectively. I can't seem to get the 10-20,000 approvals because I have no bankruptcies, chargeoffs, etc. File is clean. Seems to work against me with Cap1. Lol

Re: Capital One - needing 0% Intro and higher limit!

Thanks for the prompt response!
From what I am gathering it sounds like Cap 1 is doing starting to combine limits. If that is the case i'd be smart to apply for both than eventually move the VentureOne limit to the QS, thus giving me a higher limit down the road.

Is that what your suggesting by applying for both?

Also I should add Chase sends me mail about every month if not more it seems like. My last credit card was opened 15 months ago. So, is it worth the risk?

Yes, you can combine later.

I love to spree so I'd apply for all 3 cards.

Do Chase first then the 2 Cap 1s. Chase is a little more inq sensitive than Cap1.

Chase and Cap both have great pre-quals. They're very accurate.

Re: Capital One - needing 0% Intro and higher limit!

I hate the idea of an app spree, I like to use promo's when I have a use for them. Only so many 0% into cards (okay, there are lots LOL).

Perhaps I'll hit the Freedom one and if it approves with the limit I want and all i'll stop there. Its the card I really want with the rewards, intro, and a good everyday spender. The one I am an AU on has more than doubled in the last year since me and my fiance run all of our transactions on it. If its not what I want i'll go to the VentureOne. Smiley Happy I do like the idea of combing though with a QS for a higher limit. Maybe that would help jump the rest of my limits.  So maybe I will just end up apping for all 3, but hopefully stop with the first.

AAHHH, Hate applying for credit cards and just never knowing. haha.

I would do VentureOne and Venture if you are looking for highest limits (V1 first)

Freedoms always seem to get approved for 2,000. However, you are an AU on one so that should factor in. How much? I don't know. Chase tends to give higher limits on their co-branded cards. Decisions, decisions...let us know the outcome!

Re: Capital One - needing 0% Intro and higher limit!

Got Venture @ $10k yesterday and I have a few collections reporting. Scores aren't amazing but it works for them...

You know, Discover is handing out great starter limits now. It's Freedom's competitor. It also grows faster and with soft pulls vs Chase hard pull increases which are CRUMBS.
