@Anonymous wrote:Sure. Good luck. Let us know if you get approved.
Thank you. Should be looking at the Bankard scores or the mortagage scores? Quite confused with the different scores

I imagine there are some that have been approved w/o pre-qual but is it worth the 3 pull to find out?
May be best to wait until you get some love on their site, imo.
I received both Venture One cards as well as my Venture without the prequal...it kept telling me it couldn't find anything so I jus took a chance and ti worked out. I app'd for both V1's back to back and a few months later the regular Venture. And at the time my scores were a bit lower than they are now.
Thanks for sharing. Congrats on those aprorval! ... How many inquiries or new accounts at the time of your App with the Venture cards? do you have some late payments or collection on your Credit file when you app? What were your FICO 8 scores when you app? Thank you.
At the time I app'd for those cards I was at the beginning of a small spree. I app'd for them first because I didn't want the inquiries I was going to acquire later that week to affect their decision. With that being said, I believe my scores were between 650-665 across the 3 CRA's. As for inquiries, I would say between 2-3 at time of apping. By the time I app'd for my regular Venture a few months after my V1 approvals I was probably up to about 6-7 inquiries. Keep this in mind as well...I was very fresh out of my Ch. 13BK...and I'm talking so fresh that the ink on the discharge papers handn't even dried yet if that gives you some perspective. CapOne has been great to me...I hope they'll come through for you as well. Please chime back in and let us know if you decide to go for it. Good luck!
When you purchase your 3B scores, it will list 4 for EQ (mortgage, auto, bankcard) and FICO 8, 4 for TU (mortgage, auto, bankcard) and FICO 8, and 5 for EX (mortgage, auto, bankcard) and FICO 2 and FICO 3. Hope that helps.

Thank you for sharing your information. I will report back when I decide to app ... Were your scores FICO 8 or 4?

@Anonymous wrote:Hello, wanted to ask what FICO score model does Capital One uses if I apply for the Capital one Venture card? I have the capital one QS1 and my TU credit tracker score is 668 and totally different from my FICO score 8 (EQ=695, TU=694, EX=695). I did try the prequal online but it says cannot find any cards for me
. What are my chances if I apply for the Capital Venture since I didn't have any prequal on thier site? Does Capital one uses the FICO score 8 for CC applications? Are they inquiry sensitive? Thank you.
The lack of a prequalification isn't too important but I think you should wait until your scores are over 700.
Hey Guys,
Just want to update this thread. I got approved with Venture for $10K!!!. So surprised with approval and the SL. I did try and app right away the QS but DENIED . Reason for denial for QS:
Based on EX credit report, too many new accounts (true: had about 8 new CC in the last 6 months)
Based on EX credit report, length of credit history (AAoA : 3.3 years)
Based on TU credit report, too many new accounts
Based on EQ credit report, length of credit history
Should I RECON my QS app? I am really surprised for my Venture approval since they gave these reasons for denial for QS card. I am quite hesitant calling Cap1 for my QS Recon coz they may go back and take away my Venture approval . Anyone had success with Cap 1 RECON? Are they pretty lenient with RECONs?
I appreciate the input

Congrats on the approval for the Venture. I don't think Cap 1 recons, but what can you lose by calling. You never know with lenders; maybe they have a limit of new accounts and you crossed that threshold. Give it another six months, then try again for the quicksilver or in six months try to PC it to a Quicksilver if you can.

I don't know if Cap1 does Recon, but my experience with their customer service has been nothing short of great over the last year (since getting back in with them). Just call in and give it shot, theres really nothing to lose.
