Cards that don't do a HP?

My recent Discover approval came from a SP so now I'm wondering if I can get any other major credit cards without racking up inquiries?

In my personal experience, I got my Amex ED card first with a HP, but ever since then I've gotten two others through pre-approvals (Amex Delta Gold and Blue Cash ED) with only SPs. That's a route you could choose to go.

This is a long shot since I don't know what part of the country you're in. But if you're in a region where Citizens Bank exists you might have that option. I've been banking with them for like 5 years and last year after I had started my credit rebuilding journey, they informed me when I was in the branch making a deposit that I was pre-approved for a credit card. I asked them if that meant that there would be no HP when I accepted the offer and she said yes. Lo and behold......no HP at all. Some months later they told me that I was pre-approved for a second CC with their bank. Again, no HP to accept the offer. That would only happen if you have a banking relationship with them though. If you're cold apping then there would definitely be a HP.

Yes, I have Citizens Banks in my area (MA). How do you like them? I took advanage of one of their $250 promotions for new accounts a few years ago. I researched the bank after I opened an account and read a lot of bad reviews. I was getting kind of worried about the money I had in there so I closed the account later that year.

I've never had a problem with them at all. I've never read reviews for them as a bank but I can't think of anything negative to say about them from my experience.

We know many Comenity cards can be gotten without hp but i wouldnt recommend those. I like the Amex reference in that for many, though not all, getting one may open one to future sp cc approvals.
