I have CareCredit account for a little over 4 months now. Have applied for multiple CLI and denied every single time. I just couldn’t seem to understand why. Because during that 4 months span. I applied and get approved for 3 more accounts from Synchrony. $5K Cathay Pacific Signature VISA, $10K Lowe’s, and $2.9K Amazon. But I just could not get any CLI at all from CareCredit.
Today, just got another denied CLI letter from CareCredit in the mail. So I decided to read it instead of throw it in the trash can. Then I realized something is horribly wrong.... The score they used is from November 2nd, 2018.... My most recent CLI is on February 22nd, 2019. Why the heck that Synchony used the score that over 3 months old????
So I called up Credit Solutions. The CSR told me that Credit Solutions only process CLI request, they do not have any other functions or able to manually pull credit report, or know how or why the system used such old data. He recommended me to contact customer service at CareCredit and promptly transferred me to CS at CareCredit.
A lady got on the line and we went over the issue. She pulled up the rejection letter and agreed that it doesn’t seems right that the system used the score from November 2nd, 2018. So she put me on hold to speak with her supervisor.
A few minutes later, she came back and said that the system used whatever the most recent data it has on the system, and in my case, it is from 11/02/18 data. I told her that on CareCredit website, when I logged into the account, we see the score updated monthly. So CareCredit does receives new credit data every month from TransUnion. So it doesn’t makes sense to me why the system doesn’t use that same data. The CSR agreed but said she just doesn’t has an answer for me. I asked to speak with her superiors to see if they can provide me a better explanation and she promptly transferred me to her “manager”.
Another lady came up and claimed she is the manager. So once again, I told her blah blah blah.... Why CareCredit used data from over 3 months old to make the decision on CLI. She then started reading me the denial letter lol.......... I told her I know what is in the letter because it is in front of me. I told her at this point, I am not asking for the denial reasons. I am simply seeking the answer on why CareCredit does not use more recent data, such as the same data from my account when logged in on the website, the same data that provided to its account holder, and updated monthly. The lady said that CareCredit do not update the credit report data on their system monthly, but rather quarterly. So I asked her “are you sure?” 3 times and she said yes 3x. Then I asked her. If it is indeed the system updated the data quarterly, then why it has been more than 3 months (11/02/2018), the system doesn’t has my new data... She went cricket for awhile and said she wanted to put me on hold to check on something.
About 10 minutes later, she came back and started reading part of the denial better again... Where it said that “... while the date of the credit score may not be recent, your score has likely not changed significantly since this date....”. I stopped her and said. Ma’am, the score on 11/2/2018 was 603, my current score is 697. It is significantly different if your system actually updated. And may I remind you that at this point, ince again, I am not asking for denial reasons. I am asking why your system doesn’t has my most recent data since it has been more than 3 months. You put me on hold to find out why but when you came back, you did not give me the answer.
She went cricket again and then finally said that she cannot helps me, is there anything else that I have concern with.... lol.... So I told her yes. May I speak to your manager or someone who can give me an answer on why your system does not has my recent data. She said ok, hold on a minute, and then bam. I got disconnected 😆 😂...
So.... Had anyone have this issue before? It’s not the end of the world. But it is irritating.
