@CreditCuriosity wrote:Both CU's people have a love hate with being PenFed and Langley. Many hate PenFed and many dislike langley. Two completly different lenders in what they search for. Sorry about your denials. I am one that dislikes langey as been denied and many others have as well that have very high scores and incomes to support it. What works for one lender doesnt work for both and vice versa. Also Penfed or Langey for that matter doesnt like agressive credit seeking.
Thanks my friend - yeah, I guess I found out the hard way.
Crazy though (kinda like you mentioned) I can understand if my util was up, or my income was low, or a lot of my cards have balances.
But most of my cards are 0 balance and my overall util is 8%, no late payments, and the CB score they pull from is good enough for acceptance.
IMO, banks/CUs should take that into consideration, even if I have a lot of accounts. I don't see why they can't approve for a card I was asking for, but at a crazy low level ($500 or even below) instead if declining. Let me prove to you what all that positive stuff says in my report is true. Better than a denial. If you don't like what you see, cancel my card. If you do like what you see, then increase my limit. To me it's simple.

congrats on that amazing score, sorry for your denials ☹️

Thanks @EverForward ![]()

@Wavester64 Don't feel bad my friend. My EQ just became clean last week.Went from 735--->789 (last student loan late fell off) And I have celebrated a Citi Prestige Denail along with Lightstream Loan app. Just goes to show that great scores don't always translate into approvals! Got to let things marinade for awhile and we will eventually have our pickings of any lender we choose. ![]()

Thanks @credit_endurance for your kind words and sharing your story. 👍

So in a nutshell, CK13 comes off, EQ Fico 08 score goes to it's highest ever (777)
and 2 HPs wasted on 2 denials from 2 CUs that pull from EQ too.
PenFed is my fault (my story is in there).
Langley is not.
Feeling pretty low right now.
I felt exactly the same when I got denied for the unicorn card (AOD). It took a little while for that sting to heal but it did. I am now in the garden until at least September.
