mailers are just advertising, but additionally I am not sure if Southwest is under the 5/24 rule. I know some of the co-branded cards are not, such as Ritz-Carlton, AARP, and Amazon.
Hi lewis1, i am in same boat with you. They keep sending me this mailer three times a week both for personal and business, but i know that i am way passed 5/24, so i can't take that bait. I think it is just for advertisment. You do not want to waste hard inquiry on something that you know your chances of getting it is very much slim. I have read on this forum about people who are over 5/24 going into branch offices and getting approved, so if you think you have a shot, then try one of their branches.
recently i was receiving tons of mailers from chase freedom and chase slate. i found it odd cause everytime i went online to prequal nothing ever popped up. i decided to go to the branch and asked if i was preapproved for any cards, and they said yes. it was the freedom and slate. so i would go to the nearest branch and ask if youre preapproved.
I believe the SW card does fall under the 5/24 rule.
OP, have you been past 5/24 in the last 4 months or did you just recently go past 5/24??
