I pulled the trigger on the Chase Marriott card and got as 7-10 business day message. In the past this has been a denial for me but is this always the case? What is the automated line to check your application status? I'm sure my overall credit with chase is way up there, but given the high signup and 5/24 rules coming up for co-brands I felt like it was now or never.

Update: actually I misread the response. It says if the card is approved I will get it in 7-10 business days. I got the email saying they will let me know in 30 days.

More often than not, 7-10 days hasn't been positive for other members. But I'd just wait it out and see what happens.

I updated the post. It wasn't a 7-10 message for results. It was 30 day the 7-10 message was how long it claimed it would be to get my card if approved.

18004367927 lol i have that puppy memorized. its been the same thing for everyone i know, no instant approvals most of the time, auto line says 30 days...about 2 weeks thru its approved and a week later the card comes.

So basically there is no reason for me to spend time calling the line in the first two weeks, because it usually takes that long for review?

I would call every day. Lol. Thats what I do. Or every other day.  And just reassure yourself life is good when she says 2 weeks or 30 days. Thats usually an approval!

Re: Chase 7-10 day message on marriott card

best of luck Red!

I wish lenders, Fico, and CRA's didn't make this so hard.   I really want to churn all 3 HH cards next month and keep surpass for a few years.      :[        but nooooo,  Inquiries, AAoA and scores...   blahhh...   have to wait a year anymore.

Re: Chase 7-10 day message on marriott card

That IS the reason I reduced my credit line with Chase before application to get better chance of an instant approval.

I hate calling that status line every two hour.Smiley Wink

Re: Chase 7-10 day message on marriott card

I was wondering if you apply for a Chase credit card and then you get declined will it cause adverse action like will they look at your other chase card and cancel them?

Sure, it could happen, but is it worth worrying about? Probably not. If it happens, it was likely going to happen anyway.

I doubt it. If you apply for a bunch of cards in a short period of time sure, but if you apply for a single chase card I don't see that happening at all. Keep in mind Chase SPs your credit report if you have one of their cards so its not like they don't already have a pretty good idea of the shape your credit is in.
