Chase 7-10 day message

So I recently applied for the Chase freedom unlimited and received the 7-10 message. I was pretty bummed out but then I checked my offers the next day and I had a green check mark for the freedom unlimited so I applied again and received the same 7-10 day message. I called the recon line and the CSR told me since I am under 21 they have to send me some type of verification through mail but did not tell me what it was... I can’t seem to figure if I was denied or if they just have to verify identification.

I have 4 accounts opened within the past 24 months with Fico 8’s ranging from 723-755. Since I am only 19 I only have about a years worth of credit worthiness but have a checking and savings with chase, $36,000 income.

Plz help:/

Re: Chase 7-10 day message

So let me get this straight. You app'd for a card, got the 7-10 day message and then app'd again? It was most likely a verification of some sort. You can call and check status and sometimes the rep will ask you to verify something. Or you could sit tight and wait for letter. In the future if you apply for another card and get the 7-10 day message I would not reapply until you get the letter. Any approval that is not instant means they see something that may need additional questions answered. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately yes. I got excited as soon as I saw that the freedom unlimited was being offered to me within the chase website because I thought those green check marks were a sold approval. Lesson learned though, I will sit and wait patiently and let y’all know what happens.

Re: Chase 7-10 day message

Any luck after recieving the letter? I just recived the same response "Under 21...Verification...Written signature required" from the CSR, after getting the 7-10 day response

Re: Chase 7-10 day message

The CARD Act has specific rules that apply to people under 21 years old. They're probably requiring you to send proof of income, or requiring you to sign something stating income. That way, if you default, they're protected.

OP
Congrats on being successful with CC approvals at just 19. I must be really old because at 19, I had one card for far too many years to remember 😂🤣 before I applied for a second one.

But word to the wise. Slow down for a minute and enjoy the cards you have. Let them age and grow. There’s no need to keep accumulating CCs. Keep this in mind as you go forward—credit is a marathon, not a sprint.

Again, congrats on your successes and GL2U.
