If you are prepared to spend 45 minutes minimum pleading your case while being interrogated about your finances and you're okay with having a $500 limit that won't grow without HPs after your BK is gone, I would attempt the recon.

Sooooo.....what I hear you saying is Chase isn't really worth my time, yes? Got it! 😂

Not saying that at all. I'm saying that it's a lot of work from what I've seen of the few who got a recon and the lowest limit they issue. It's up to you to decide from there. I personally could make a $500 Amazon card work most of the time but since Synchrony has their card, I just have that until my BK is gone. And likely long after since Amazon isn't a card that Chase adds to their card offers in Credit Journey that bypass 5/24 either.

I hear you. My thing is, like you, I've already got the Synchrony Amazon card which is more than adequate for my needs. I only attempted the Chase variant for the instant $70 credit on my purchase of two ecobee thermostats. Outside of that, I would doubt I'd ever use the card, especially with such a low limit. My Propel (which is already lower on CL than I prefer at $3k) is my current go-to for daily spending as its reward structure is really the best and most versatile for our spending habits. The Venture and Savor are also both really good (and I use those where Amex isn't accepted), plus you can use their reward points directly on Amazon now, too. There's just too many options out there to spend a lot of time trying to get the Chase card just to have it. If they don't want my measly $2,200 a month of discretionary spending, then I'm happy to stick with the creditors who looked at my complete credit profile after my BK and decided they still wanted my business.
BKs aren't great, but not everyone's is the same. Sure, there are some deadbeats with no control over their spending out there, but some folks hit a rough patch or have otherwise extenuating circumstances that result in such an action, yet have have an otherwise spotless history. The latter is me and I'm happy that companies like Cap1 were willing to take a chance on me. In the 7+ years since they took me in, I don't think they've regretted it. Plus, their app and customer service, in my experience, has blown everyone else away (and I had and my wife still has Amex, Chase, Citi, etc). If they could beat the Propel on rewards, they'd still be my daily spend choice.

Ummm yeah. There's a possibility of another HP. (I think)
OP, what does your individual and aggregate UT look like? How many inqs and new accts in last 3/6/12/24 months?
UT = utilization, yes? I'm typically between 2-3%. It varies depending on if it's the end of the month or the beginning of one, but doesn't go far beyond that. I do have more right this second as we bought a new house back in November and have had to spend on a few upgrades we've made, but even right now, utilization is at about 16%.
Inquiries, that's a whole other story. Given the mortgage process and right at three new cards over 24 months, I'd likely fail the 5/24 or be really close to it.
EDIT: I just checked and I'm at 9% utilization right now. I'll be paying that back down to 3% or less in the next month.
This sounds like your aggregate UT. What is each individual card's UT?
Gotcha. Yes, that's the aggregate. I'll have to look when I have a second. Since I'm using the WF for my daily spend now and it's got a much lower limit than my other go-to's, that's definitely higher. Those thermostats plus some other items have the Amazon card at a little under 50%, I think. My Savor is at ~30%. The Savor and the Amazon will both get paid off in the next month or so. Propel will get close to 80% before I pay it off at the end of the month.

Chase, or for that matter, any other CCs is not going to like these high individual CC UTs. Before reconning or applying for any additional credit, you should definitely work on getting each of those balances under 28.9%. IMHO, I believe you will start getting additional denials before you get approvals. Just my 2cents.

Yup you feel the same way I do. Capital One earned my loyalty too for the same reason. NFCU is better on the customer service front but there is no doubt in my mind they would have forced me to get a secured card back in 2014 when Capital One gave me an unsecured Platinum. I have had nothing but good experiences with them and they've been very generous with me too.
I will get a Freedom when they will give me one because who doesn't want to earn 5%? But I'm not losing sleep over not having Chase.
