Last week on 9/7 I applied for the Chase Amazon card, on Amazon.com website.
I asssujed it would be an instant approval - or god forbid a denial. Got the 7-10days response.
Later I got notifications within about 30min of credit being pulled from Experian.
tried called recon line and was told there was no app, and nothing on file, but I had seen my credit pull report on 2 different systems. (Strangely NOT myFICO)
anyhow, seems it's held up do to address mis-match and I've verified my address via 3 different document requests with chase and still no decision. getting pretty frustrated as I've never had so much trouble with a credit app.
my scores are all 800+, util less than 2% and as of the application no inq's. Pretty clean and solid.
anyone else feeling the cold shoulder from chase?

Have changed your mailing address or moved?
What is the mis-match?
Interesting. I just went through the Amazon Visa pre-approval (it said I was pre-approved) and then proceeded to apply. When I submitted, I received the following message:
"Your application needs further review. Please don't resubmit the application.
An immediate decision about your application cannot be provided as it requires further review."
This was at the bottom of the page:
"We may need to contact you to verify your identity prior to approving you for the card."
I'm pretty sure I qualify for this card. My credit score is pretty good, I have nothing negative on my report, and my utilization is like 1%. Weird.

@Varsity_Lu I had a similar response for an AMEX pre approval. It was late on a Wednesday, late that following Friday I received a call from Amex they wanted to confirm I had indeed applied for the product. A few further verification questions, and in about 1 minute after hanging up an email arrived saying I was approved. The account showed up on Monday. So, just be patient its the weekend.

I got a Chase fraud letter in the mail yesterday (Friday) and called them that afternoon. I spoke to a CSR and verified my identity. They then re-activated my Amazon Visa application but told me it had to go through a system review. I will either get a rejection letter or a card in the mail in about a week. I'm guessing I am going to get a rejection letter. Still seems weird since I passed the pre-approval and have a pretty high score with very low utilization.

Here is hoping for approval. Banks often change there back office procedures for product application so who knows what new guidelines may have flagged your otherwise solid credit profile? GL.
Thanks. I'll update here when I hear back from Chase.

Fingers crossed its a simple verification matter holding up your approval. Never heard of this before though...good to know.
Declined. I haven't received the letter in the mail yet, but I called Chase to check on the status. The CSR was kind of surprised that there wasn't any reason given for the decline. She said there is always a reason listed for a decline. The only thing I can think of is too many recent inquiries. They pulled TU and Ex. My scores were 812 with 5 INQs and 794 with 3 INQs respectively. Their hard pulls put me at 6 and 4 INQs in 12 months. I've also opened three accounts this year, but two of them have yet to report. My AAoA is like 9 years because of an old closed Lowes card from 21+ years ago that mistakenly didn't close until 2015 even though I requested it. Thank you Synchrony.
I'm actually ok with this decline. My wife was just approved for BCE and we will be using that for all online purchases including Amazon. Honestly, we spend less than $1,000 each year on Amazon so the cash back between 1.5% with my Quicksilver and 3% with Amazon Visa is only $15. But now we have BCE so we'll still get 3%. The fact that this Amazon account was never opened helps my AAoA going forward. I am a little bummed that I can't seem to get into a Visa Signature card. That's one of my goals before my wife and I head to Europe.
Guess I'll garden for a while.

It sounds like you didn't need the Amazon anyway
