Does anyone know of a number to call for Chase to check the status of an application without talking to a person? All the backdoor numbers on the pinned thread all lead to chase card services with no option to check the status without talking to someone.
1-888-338-2586
Wait til it prompts you to press the pound/# key, then press 4 for application status

I didn't get a prompt to press pound key. Just standard account services.

I just tried it and the prompt is there, you have to wait a good 30 seconds or so before the prompt asks to report lost/stolen cards, one other and application status which then tells you to press # key
Same number I've used before can be found here at the Chase website as well it works
Just an update: called automated status line and it said 7-10 day message.
I then called and spoke to a person, again..., and they said it was still in review by recon department.
Any opinions anyone? I'm chalking this up to a complete denial. A CSR put it in review just this afternoon and I called automated line a few hours later...
Patience is not my virtue...

I would wait it out and see what the recon department has to say, might be because of the new year they may be busier than usual with credit decisions. If you need the card asap you can always ask them to expedite the card if you get an approval and receive the card in a few days free of charge. Though I will say I am somewhat surprise the recon wasn't done over the phone with you. In the past the few times I have had to recon an app with Chase they just ask me to hold on the line while they manuall review the appplication before coming back with a final decision

I had to call recon for my CSP approval and they didn't give me a decision over the phone. Called and no info but got the approval email a day later. We shall see with this one.
I think I've scared Chase since I hit the CLi button recently and I'm carrying balances on my two Inks while putting the money in a HYSA until the 0% term ends.
girl you need to calm down. give it a minute. I got approved for a 5k Chase Freedom with a 655 FICO back in the day. They will work with you.

I really think a denial is in the works here unfortunately. So many opened accounts and inqs are killing me.
Im just not sure why Chase is not liking me here recently.
same for me. it really seems banks are focused on inqs a lot more lately. it didn't used to be that way. I remember getting approved for the marriott card with like 7 inquiries anda 690 fico for 25k. It must be because we have been in a somewhat inflationary environment for the first time in nearly 50 years.
I got all of my chase cards with around ten inquiries, it was before they put in all those 5/24 rules lol. Good luck either way.:-)
