Chase CLI Request; Hard or Soft Pull?

Hello All,

Apologies if this is asked and answered, I'm finding a lot of stuff from 2023 and 2024 on this and I want to be certain as I'm minding my HPs.

Is the CLI request via app a soft pull or hard pull? And through the website on PC?

Thanks in advance!

Usually a soft pull, but you should freeze your credit (regardless) and try it. I've been getting SP CLI's on my cards consistently with frozen reports, none of my lenders have asked me to unfreeze at any point.

It was a soft pull for me on the Prime card, but they couldn't do it until I had unfroze my TU report. That was in July of last year.

Aven Rewards (Groceries) | Chase Prime (Amazon) | Citi Custom Cash (Dining) | Elan MCP (Utilities)

@SusanJA

Hey guys, I actually just did the CLI with Chase and the results are here!

The individual I spoke to in the lending department informed me that Chase only does HPs for new card applications. They also did have me unfreeze my TU.
