My dad applied for Chase Freedom last night, he received a 7-10 message on the app and then received an email stating 30 days. I had him call verification and they offered to transfer him to lending so he politely declined and ended the phone call. Is this a good sign? Thanks for any information available
There are things to take into consideration; has he opened 5 or more credit cards in 24 months, what is his fico scores, clean reports, inquiries?
did he call the automated status line? its good he didnt talk to lending if any of the above is true but if he has 5 or more new cards in 24 months than its probably more than likey declined.
call the status and see if it says 2 weeks or 30 days. if it says 7 to 10 probably a denial.
He only has 3 credit cards in total so not worried about the 5/24 rule. His payment history is clean, he may have a medical collection on there but he has a Chase Slate and he is an AU for CSP, MRP and SWA if that could help. He also makes 6 figure income.

i just apped for for a chase card and received the same status. Called auto line and it stated 2 weeks.

I applied last week, got the 7-10 day message, then the 30-day email. I called in a couple of days later, and they told me I was approved, but had to answer some brief verification questions. Card should be here today or tomorrow.
Automated line still says the same...will advise him to call verification in a day or two.
Had him call verification again, they offered to transfer to lending and he hung up, not denial or approved yet

I would say continue waiting it out. IMO, if he talks to lending, expect a grilling. I too am waiting a 30 day decision. When I call one line it wants to transfer me automatically to lending. Not going to happen.
What happens if you are transferred to lending? Why is he avoiding speaking with lending?
