Hello!
I've been lurking for a few months after getting my credit rebuilt from let's say an immature era of me. And I didn't know where else to ask this type of question, so apologies in advanced.
My first ever card was a Chase Freedom from at least 9-10 years ago but I was immature and irresponsible with the card and was eventually closed by Chase (Though I've paid the balances in full.) Fast foward to present, I've matured up with the cards that didn't close and have been WAY more responsible with the cards now. My last credit report put me at 680 Experian, 676 Equifax, and 672 Trans with about 14% Utilizations. I have currently the Cap1 QS, Uber Visa, and BoA Travel Rewards.
I tried re-opening to card but was told the closure was so long ago, it's a no-go. So my question is should I re-apply to Freedom given my history from that long ago or even try to the CSP or shall I just wait it out and go for a try for Amex Everyday.
Thanks for any input!

Try to call them or visit the branch. Never go with just one opinion. I'd go to 2 different branches and asked them to look me up + call CS.

See your odds of getting approved for CSP. If you have solid odds go for it. It's better than Freedom. Talking about AMEX. It's up to you.
Thanks for the reply. I guess when Monday rolls by, I'll visit a nearby branch and call again to see if it can be reopened. Hopefully the 9 year gap isn't too long, ah ha!
Try the Chase website for pre- approvals. If shown a specific APR vs. a range you should be good to go. It worked for me.
Small update:
I've spoken to 3 reps, 2 on the phone and 1 via secured message. I've also visited a branch to explain my situation and plea.
Unfortunately I couldn't get the Freedom card re-opened and at this point I'll take it as a hard lesson from the past. With this though I feel my relationship will be bumpy with Chase and I guess I should just let my current credit history grow and go back to Chase after a year or two.
I used to have a Checkings with them but switched to BoA not too long ago. My relationship with them is just..bumpy..to sa the least. I think my best bet is to just relax with them for a bit and I'll try to apply with them again in 2 years or so.
