Applied for a Chase CC and received an initial message that said,
"We need to review your request a little longer. We'll let you know our decision as soon as possible."

Followed by an email that says,
"We have received your request for a Chase credit card. We'll let you know our decision as soon as possible."

Everything I've read only talks about a 30 day, 2 week, and 7-10 day message. Anyone know what it more than likely means if they don't list an amount of time? Thanks!

It means additional review of your app is needed.
You can call automated status line and see if there has been any status change.

You'll have to be patient. This is very common and not unheard of for Chase. It can range anywhere from a few days up to a month in some cases. That is just how they operate, and does not favor denial or approval. As Remedios mentioned you can try checking on the status in the meantime, but the process will have to play itself out. I received both a message and email with that exact wording when I applied. When I called the automated status number I got the 2 weeks message, and after 2 days I was called for verification and apprvoed. Just my experience, but the vague wording isn't necessarily a bad thing!

Not an uncommon process for them to do this, it also doesnt mean you won't be approved, good luck, let us know how it works out.
