Awesome, congrasts to you! you are in with Chase... Show the Freedom a few months of love and getting the United shouldn't be a problem in a few months.. Treat it right and they will treat you right! again, congrats
@Anonymous wrote:@Anonymous @Anonymous, I just called the reconsideration number, the guy is nice to approve my freedom application at $500
, but for the united mileageplus card, he said he can not because my only have one credit card and he is wondering if I can maintain the united card. I like the united card, maybe I can have a try as you said in the Fridays or at the end of the month?
Anyway, Thank you a lot. your strategy works.
I will keep updating on the united card.
Congrats on you approval. Giid work!
Hey a $500 CL isn't too bad. Some people only have $400.
@Yes-Its-Me, thanks a lot.
I would mainly use my amex while this freedom will be used just for credit accumulation.
Chase do did one hard pull in my credit report several days ago.
Do you think I still need to call the recosider for the united?

@Anonymous,
Yes, you have nothing to lose. Rest up tomorrow and be at it on Friday. Call twice on Friday. Keep in mind the analyst said he doesn't know how you will be able to handle that card. When you call on Friday, if the analyst brings that same subject up let him/her know you'd like to start with a small limit as you spend x amount during the year travelling. Will keep my fingers crossed for you for the travel card.
Plan B.
If chase doesn't give you the travel card (don't give up to easily), Amex has the delta card and that is an easy approval if you are not willing to wait.
@Yes-Its-Me, when do you think I should call in the morning? just the time they start working or half hour later?
I am wondering if the analyst is the same person who approved my freedom, what should I do?
In fact, I am not going to have a trip this month(should be in march), but the united mileageplus card for is a special offer, giving me 50k mileage. So I want to have this card.
@MBSS, yes, I agree with you, I just want to have more card to accumulate my credit at present.
But I do need the united mileageplus for my trip.
@CreditCuriousity, Thanks, I would mainly use amex while freedom is for credit history and the scores.

@FocusedAndDetermined, Thanks. Wish me good luck on the United mileageplus.

@Anonymous,
Call at 9:30am and then evening. (morning hurdle for them, perhaps analyst has been called out for lackluster credit card approvals/low numbers and is ready to dish it out just to make goal). Of course, this is just an assumption. The reason being when you call in the morning, you won't get the same analyst as they work in shifts. Think about it, the same analyst does not work from 9am - 10pm. Think strategy in recon I doubt if you will get the same analyst. If you do, don't speak, hang up if you think it is the same analyst. What is the limit on your discover card if you don't mind me asking? Chase tends to be more generous with the co branded cards when it comes to limits that is why the analyst made that statement to you " We don't know how you'd handle the limit".
