Next week I will be flying to Vegas for a work conference, since there are a few Chase branch's in Vegas and non local to me could I simply walk in to a branch and ask about pre-approvals? I'm after the CFU. A friend of mine applied tonight and got instantly approved and he is at 10/24, with 7 being in the last month, I'd rather not risk it and just see if I have a pre-approval in branch. Exp is in the mid 7's which is what they pulled on my other Chase cards I recently acquired.
Thank you in advance!

Yep just walk in and ask for pre-approval!
If you haven't had a checking or saving account with Chase. It might be worthwhile getting the coupon code from online and opening one when you are at Vegas. You may check for pre-approval after you open an account. If you dont get pre-approved, you can always check back one to several months later as having a banking relationship with Chase might help!
I don't have a checking or savings account, but I do have a auto loan with them opened in September 2016. All payments have been made early, I might walk into a local branch to see if can get pre-approved.
I got approved for the CPU last week just by walking into the bank to apply. Only took a few minutes to get instantly approved, especially if you already have an account with Chase.

Were you pre-approved? Over 5/24?
Congrats!

I was pre-approved by mail and online. Originally was going for the Slate but the rep talked me into either the FU or CSP. I went with the FU since it had no annual fee (sorry for the typo on my previous response). Never done 5/24 since I haven't had an inquiry for a card since 2014. It was very quick and easy when I went in. Was very surprised by the entire process.
Went in to my local branch and received the 7-10 day. Guess I'll have to wait to add Chase to my portfolio.
Thanks for the data points.

Were you over 5/24 and pre-approved or not?

Yes over 5/24 and the 7-10 day wait is the not being pre-approved part. He said that I could still get approved but I need to wait for them to make the decision.
