So, I had my Ch 13 BK discharged in May 2023 and have to wait until April 2025 for the bankruptcy to fall off my CRs. I tested with Chase a while back and denied it, and I recently checked again within the last two weeks and denied it again. The only reason stated in both denials was that the BK was listed on my CRs.
I got this Marriott email offering either the Bold or Boundless cards serviced by Chase and was curious if that means a higher chance of approval even with BK, or are they just looking at scores? I obviously don't want to try and get a hard pull ding again just for a denial.
I have $19k CL's, 1% utilization, a car loan of around $42k (just got my car in October 2023) my income is very good, and I PIF every month and sometimes multiple times a month.
I received an email from Marriott as well. If it came from Marriott and not Chase it is meaningless.
You didn't say if Chase was 🔥ed in the bk. If so, you'll probably be waiting even longer, they have a long memory.
Btw, amex also has a couple of Marriott cards.
Sorry yes they technically were included. I say that because they had charged me off and sent to a collection's agency and they were the ones that filed to get a cut of my payments. I think the balance was like $9k.
Not sure if that matters but I guess I'll have to wait until after the BK falls off next April to test and see.
AMEX keeps putting me in PUJ, just checked again for prequal for their AMEX Marriott's and I'm preapproved but they wont let me take advantage of their SUB offers.
I think Chase remembers being burned even after it falls off your report.
I recently applied for the Boundless card and was denied due to bankruptcy. Mines was discharged 9/17 and Chase was not included.
Ch 7 or Ch 13? Does the BK still show on your credit report?
Chapter 7 and scheduled to fall off 9/2027
