Chase Slate Card

I want to app for both the Chase Slate and Freedom cards but am holding off because I do not think my scores are quite there yet. This morning I read a short article about the Slate being one of the better transfer cards (along with a Barclay's and a Citi) and it is the only one that will accept Fair credit. It said one only needed a minimum score of 650 to acquire it.

Although I do have one score at 668, it's EQ (FICO8). The other two are at 648. In looking at my CMS, Chase has only HP'd on Experian. I have apped a couple of times (once in Jan. and once in July) with them trying to get the Amazon card which I finally did get it in July. Could this be a possibility that they really only really pull EX?

Re: Chase Slate Card

They usually pull EX and TU same time and other times EX and EQ what i read. All depends where you live. About score i think is better wait for 700+ , better score better terms and sl , im waiting too to apply for freedom or discover , but i want 700+.

Re: Chase Slate Card

I apped and was approved for Chase slate, back at the end of July, with a TU score of 624. I then got trigger happy and tried to immediately apply for the Freedom, because I had be pre approved for both, but ended with a decline, and reason stated, to many recent inquiries, which I had just had 3 other hp's. They pulled EX for the Freedom app which at the time, was a 627. Right after this, the pre approval site, stopped showing any products for me. So fast forward to yesterday, almost 2 months later, I checked the pre approval site, and it was once again showing, Freedom, which I still wanted.  So went ahead and apped and got Approved. Not sure which report they pulled, as myfico hasn't alerted me yet, but TU is currently 630, and EX is a 639

Re: Chase Slate Card

Wow! What was your CL on the two cards? I am still going to wait for the better terms as my report should be changing A LOT in the next month.

As far as the credit pulls, Chase only showed on the one agency for me.

Re: Chase Slate Card

The last time i try with chase was in may this year , they denied me and in the recon process they say about my new accounts and wait more time to see how i manage them . i just have 2 cards and in that time my TU score was 650 , now is 690.

Correct. Chase pulled EX and TU for myself on the Freedom.

Good Question. when that ruled seemed to hit  the spring, all my pre qual's at the chase site vanished. My fifth account will pass two years soon in age, will bei intersting to see at that point, If I am back in good graces.
