Chase United -Prequalification - App

Hi all. Wondering if anyone else has had this experience. Accepted a Chase prequal offer through the United App ( has a fixed APR in the terms). I’m over 5/24 otherwise. Applied and got the “ we will let you know as soon as possible.” Email. Called the status line and got the 30 message. Few days later that message was gone and the app line said “ we are having trouble finding your status at this time” so I called recon. Was told the app was pending and they’d send me a letter in one to two weeks. Automated line still gives me same message “ having trouble try back later “. There’s been a hard pull already. Wondering if anyone had any insight , if there is a chance or If I should throw this in the declined pile. Scores are decent- in the 690s, usage is slightly higher than 30 percent and I have several cards with high limits. Thanks in advance.

It’s possible it’s a verification issue. Maybe give it a day or so to see if status line has updated. Good luck

As was mentioned before this sounds like a potential verification issue.   The message changing from 30 days means that a UW has looked at the application.

 

You mentioned a fixed APR; was there also opt-out language in the offer?

 

A 690 is good enough to be approved for United cards, you don't need to worried that your score is too low.

Thank you all - quick update.  Spoke to the Fraud department after sending a secure message through my chase account to confirm they have my app.  Fraud sent a text to me and verified I was the one who submitted the app and then said I need to wait a week or two for either a letter or a card in the mail.  When I call the automated line I still get the "The system cannot access your records at this time.  Please call back at a later time" message.  So I'll just sit tight.  

 

On the question about the offer having "opt-out" language - not sure what exactly that means but I don't recall seeing any if it is what I think it means. 

 

This has been my most wanted card and it has escaped me for mostly 5/24 reasons - but if I were to land it, I think I would be done apping for a long time and probably look to close a couple of cards.
