I finally got my BK deleted from all 3 bureaus! Yay! Equifax, of course, waiting the longest. I called today and they said it was gone. Date of BK 10 year would have been 2/16/20, so they did it a little early.
I have been wanting a Chase Sapphire Reserve forever, but I didn’t want to apply and get declined. Now that my credit scores are all back over 800, I think maybe I’ll get approved. Income is about $200k/yr and I have a mtg, auto loan and other credit cards.
Should I apply now or wait for a few more months?
Thank you in advance!
@Anonymous It all depends on whether you burned Chase or one of its affiliates/acquisitions in your bankruptcy. If you did, they can/may still refer to their internal records and deny you citing "previous unsatisfactory relationship" and still possibly blacklist you. If you're blacklisted and apply, you will be denied without a hard pull so actually making an application is the only way to find out for sure.
Try Chase Journey and see if you get any offers
Chase will double pull you and still deny you if youre in their blacklist

I agree with others here. My DW and I filed BK7 in JAN2011 and I (not DW) burned Chase IIB. We have our checking account with Chase and we run $11~12K through Chase every month. Last year, she received a pre-approved offer from Chase Slate. I was surprised to say the least. So I got froggy and applied for Slate and they would not play "a dead man in a cowboy movie" with me. I think they denied me before I hit the **bleep** button. The reason was BK7 on file and no mention of IIB account ($20K).
This week starts the 9th and final year for my BK7. I checked the pre-qual site and it matched me with Freedom so I took the plunge. Denied again but this time it was even quicker. The same reason for the denial "BK7 on file" and no mention of IIB account.
So I am very interested in your story and its outcome. Nevertheless, I would hit the button and risk the HPs.
