Re: Chase application status line auto-transferring

wanderingbuilder, possibly the automated line is transferring you because you applied for 2 cards back to back?

I know that others have successfully applied for 2 cards back to back without being transferred to a live person, but just venturing a guess that at times someone applying back to back may trigger something within their system to transfer you to a person.

Re: Chase application status line auto-transferring

Just as a note, I did call several times to check status during hours that UW would have been closed, and the system did not transfer me to a live person.

Re: Chase application status line auto-transferring

Ok... found it. This one worked. Got the 30 day message when I applied... now it says 2 weeks on this line. I heard 7-10 is bad and 30 is good..... what is 2 weeks?

Not sure, but they were both auto-denied instantly upon apping due to 5/24 because the denial letters were dated the day I applied. Nobody even looked at the applications.

Re: Chase application status line auto-transferring

I don't think that's why only cuz it happened to me as well as a few others that I found in search and we didn't app for 2 back to back.

I had luck calling the second number. That one updated while the first one kept transferring me.

@wandering... did they pull your credit and deny you? That sucks if they did and didn't even look at your application. US Bank did that to me for my 2nd card with them. I got them to remove it.

Yes just a single EX pull. I have so many recent EX INQs that it didn't affect my score. In fact, EX finally came up a point since Barclays decided to finally report Arrival+ and Sallie Mae that have been at 0 balance for 2 months.

Just postulating a guess here, but I would venture that any time there may be an issue with the application, it may transfer you to a person.

Examples include:

Applying for 2 cards back to back

Having a fraud alert on your credit report

Verification needed

Other flags within the Chase system that we do not know about

I'm sure there are multiple reasons it may transfer to a person. YMMV, of course, but I have a feeling if there is an issue it may (key word being "may") go directly to a live person.

As a funny note:

I just threw down an app for the Fairmont card, calling the auto status line is again trying to transfer me.
