This was about a year and a half ago when I last tried. I hit their prequal now and a couple of cards show but I don't want to play the game of wasting another HP only to be told no...as I mentioned upthread, they were still peeved the last time over Providian and I can't imagine much has changed despite what their prequal says. Others have suggested that the prequal was a good sign and to app and if denied, recon...no thank you. I refuse to be interrogated by Chase (as I've heard they do on recon) for a something as simple as a credit card. My patience and temper is much to thin these days...if they ask me the wrong question or try to talk down to me I'm likely to curse them out or just tell them to go kick rocks.

.........................and the horse they rode in on and the one that followed them too.
I had the old Providian/WaMu issue many, many years ago. I haven't tried to get anything with them. As far as I am concerned that ship has sailed.
Good luck to the OP and hopefully things will work out.

You are too kind. Besides cursing them out, I will definitely tell them to do something...but not to kick rocks.....
Maybe try a prequal on their site.... see what comes up.
If nothing ... I would just make sure you are OPTED IN and wait and see if you get any offers in the mail with clear percentages etc.
If nothing still yet ... I wouldn't waste a hardpull. But you may want to leave room for them if you change your mind. IE 5/24
I burned 2 chase cards in my bk 2/14, one was an old wamu and one was a freedom card. I have a checking account with chase ever since when it was still wamu, have had direct deposit on my account for last 10 years, At least $100,000 goes through that account yearly. Would they even consider that? What would I have to apply and than call recon? Anybody else had a similar situation?
FWIW, I too burned Providian (CO not paid) and i thought i was blacklisted so I never apped for any Chase card. Two months ago i was the victim of ID theft and they tried to open a Chase Freedom account. Chase HPed EQ qnd TU and thats how i found out and called Chase fraud to stop the app from going thru.
What I didnt realize at the time was that if i were blacklisted they wouldnt have HPd me. I did get angry that Chase had given them a 30 day notice letter despite the fact there is a fraud alert across all my CRs Im not blacklisted so if i were u, id try the prequal site first and then pull the trigger on your first choice

I burned Chase hard in a 2003 bankruptcy. I didn't get serious about getting back in with them for a long time and when I did my success lied in super low utilization and inquires, like 2% utilization across the bored and was approved for freedom
In 2014. Now I have 13 Chase cards.
How do you have 13 chase cards? Dang. And all in 2 years, obviously no 5-24 for you. Didn't realize they had 13 credit cards..
