when i go to the chase website and click on all cards it shows it towards the bottom.  its the blue non prime card, but if youre a prime member they will send you the prime version

Right, but when you click it you get a prompt that comes up that tells you that you're leaving the Chase site and you get redirected to apply through an Amazon link.  I have not seen this happen with other Chase cards.  It seems to me that you can't apply for the Chase Amazon card directly on the Chase site unless I'm overlooking something here.

Right, I see it... but when I click it to inquire/apply it says that you're now leaving the Chase site [click proceed] and when you do you get redirected to apply through the Amazon site.  Does this not happen for you when you click on the Chase Amazon card on the Chase site?

Just saw your reply now.  Sorry I missed it earlier.  Good to know that I'm not going crazy here and that you are seeing the same thing!

Prequals are pretty good as far as indicatoin of being approved.

Also, actual store cards do not count for 5/24, nor do installment loans (like an auto loan or mortgage).

You should be fine. Which of those 3 cards makes sense to you?

I thought Chase's prequals were pretty solid indicators.  I was actually hoping for a Freedom Unlimited, because I want to get into UR, and that would make sense as a daily driver.  But I would more than likely go for the Freedom first, to start with the 5X URs and the decent little sign on bonus.  Then in a year or two Im going to go for the CSP after I have some history with Chase.

Im gonna wait to app until February 1 though, because my Discover has a CLI from 5700 to 9700 that hasnt reported to the bureaus yet, so I want them to see that I can manage a almost 10K line before they decide on whether or not to approve me, lol.

Congrats on the pre-qual! You could take the Freedom offer and then PC to the Unlimited.

What is your credit profile like, do you have any baddies?

American Express: Platinum Charge, Optima, Business Gold, Delta Business Reserve, Business Cash, Business Plus
Bank of America: Alaska Air Atmos Summit Visa Infinite
Barclays: Arrival Premier WEMC (Closed)
Capital One: Savor WEMC, Venture X Visa Infinite
Chase: Freedom U Visa Signature, CSR Visa Infinite
Citibank: AAdvantage Platinum WEMC
Elan/US Bank: Fidelity Visa Signature
Credit Union: Cash Back Visa Signature

I ultimately want the Freedom/ Freedom Unlimited/ CSP combo, so Ill probably keep the Freedom when I app for it if I get approved, then app for FU and CSP later on.

Unfortunately yes I do have baddies:

A 90 day late on a WFDS car loan from 4/2013.

2 PIF Chargeoffs from 4/2013

and a PIF collection from 10/2013.

I have tried and tried and tried to have them removed via goodwill letters and phonecalls no dice.

I cold-apped for Freedom in 12/2015, and reconned and they told me to try back in a year with positive history reporting, (even though i had almost two years of positive history at that point), and now a year later I get the pre-quals looks like the recon lady knew what she was saying! lol

Re: Chase, is this real?

Cy1215, have you applied yet? I'm recently in the same boat. 5/24 with one being a Victoria's Secret store card.

Cy1215 hasn't signed into the forums for several months so there is s good chance that you won't get a reply to your question.  You might be far better to ask any question that you might have about about applying for a Chase card in a new thread that you start.

So I check pre quals just about daily for the past two years or so waiting on Chase and Citi to prequal me for something.  I dont really know if Im truly over 5/24 or not.  Ive seen that store cards and installment loans dont count, and Ive seen that they do.  If neither of those count, and it is truly only Bank Cards, I am at 3/24.  However, if store cards and installment loans count, I am at 8/24.

With that being said I somehow just prequalified for these three, is there a real shot at any of these?CHASE.png

It's real all right.

.... oops I fell for it again. Bought into a thread that's ancient. Wish MyFICO would shut down a thread after a certain period of time.

We do but usually not earlier than a year old.  Often there are legitimate reasons for a thread to get new responses after a couple month lull so we all have to check the dates of posts to ensure whether you want to reply or not.  Ive done the same thing many times so I know posting in an old thread is an easy thing to do.
