Chase pending decision. For 2nd card.

So after many years of having just two plain old cards, I decided to go for some rewards cards. Myfico scores all about 750, utilization <2%, oldest card 22 years, average age 7 years.

Applied for and approved over the past 2 months:

Barclays US airways card (wanted to get some AA miles before the merger).

Amex gold charge ( the 50k for $1 spend offer, couldn't resist that one.)

Capital One Venture (gave me an insane $50k limit)

Chase British Airways (Avios good for short hops on AA)

Then denied a Citi Aadvantage world mastercard, perhaps because I already have the Aadvantage visa? I haven't received the letter yet.

So l just applied for the Chase Marriott card and got the "you will receive our decision by US mail" response. This was less than a week after being approved for the Chase BA card with a $19k credit line. Is this worth a recon call, perhaps to reallocate the CL? If so, should I wait for a denial letter before callng? I have no other Chase cards, but have been a banking customer for 18 years. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum 

Chase is known to delay a 2nd recent app for verification

In most cases its just a matter of a call to verify that you made the app 

So make the call ...now....have you called yet? Lol Why not? Get er done

Call lending department now. I think they're open now on Sundays so you can see what's going on.

I didn't imagine they would be open Sunday. Will call now and post results.

Called Lending at the 888-245-0625 number. They say I need to call verification dept, but only open M-F. So I guess that's a good sign!
