Could be the address at mailbox or just simply verification. Some mailboxes have physical addresses that can be used. I have a P.O. Box which has a physical address that is actually listed on my CRA's. I am often asked about this address as verification of my preceeding address. I think it's just normal verification and a good sign since recon dept steered her to verification dept. I too recently got the verification department who just asked me simple verification questions from my credit file and then approved me for the Chase Hyatt @24k.
Just an update. My friend called in and answered some questions and the chase rep said they do not need any further information and need to do further verification so it will take a week for an answer. I'm not sure what takes a week to verify.

I know when I called in to verification I was told that usually, not always, that they are able to get an instant decision. It's not necessarily a bad sign considering that your friend didn't have to speak to a credit analyst. That's usually when it can go either way IMO. Others may chime in

I've always gotten instance verification when it has happened except for a situation on a business card where I had to submit documents and then it was a matter of waiting for the documents to show in their system. In this case they didn't request anything. I find it odd and since she is not use to dealing with lenders she isn't pressing them for information about what they need to look at the way I would in that situation.

Does she have any securithy freezes in place, cases of prior identity theft, etc... I know I recently attempted to apply for a PNC checking account online and was flagged due to prior identify theft so I couldn't open account online. I had to go into a brance and give my first born up.

not that I am aware of and she banks with Chase!
That's really odd then since she banks with them. All I can say is they told me that there are times an instant decision isn't made but the fact that she didn't have to speak to an analyst is a good sign IMO

Well she was preapproved and was told so by the branch, so it will be ridiculous if they deny her, because the only reason I had her apply for this card was because of the preapproval.

Ok then it just sounds like a verification issue unless something drastically changed from the time of preapproval to when she submitted the application in her credit profile
Just an update she was approved, although she does not know what the credit line is yet. Is there any way to find out the credit line without calling in? She is kind of trigger shy and doesn't want to call to ask. Since she has a chase bank account would the card automatically show up lined to her account or does she have to add it when she gets the physical card?
