Citi DB App & Prime Rewards CLI... Should I call?

I applied for a Citi DB on Monday, I've not heard back from them yet. I know they say it can take 7-10 days, but would calling and speaking to them help my chances of being approved? If so, which number should I call and is there anything specific I should ask and/or say?

Likewise, I called Chase's normal number on Monday and asked for a credit line increase... They doubled my previous amount of $500, giving me a limit of $1,000. I was honestly hoping for a bit more, would calling their recon/analyst render any chance of them increasing it more? Do you think they'd require another HP, or would they go based off of the one they did on Monday?

My current scores are in my signature, mouse over the badges to see details. My EXF8 was 725 Monday, so it's taken a bit of a hit from the HPs but I plan to garden a bit after this...

I did that, it just stated that it was still under review.

First, congratulations on your CLI! If you're interested in a recon for more, it wouldn't hurt to ask, but for sure find out up front if there will a HP involved.
Second, try to be patient (I know it's hard!) and check the application status link as often as you like until you get your answer.
Just my 2 cents.

i also got a 7-10day online message when i applied for the usbank cash+, and got a Denied letter in the mail 7days later. But called the recon line 20days later and still got approved

i believe we get a 30day window to call the recon line for all apps submitted. right guys?

and what scores did you have before applying for the prime and uber? thanks for sharing

Re: Citi DB App & Prime Rewards CLI... Should I call?

I don't know what my score was when applying for the Prime, I didn't know anything about credit scores back then... All I knew was that I needed to start building some credit. Is there a way to find out what it was? Would the bank tell me what it was if I asked? I'm actually very curious about this myself...

My EXF8 score was 725 at the start of Monday, but I then requested the Prime CLI before applying for the Uber card about 10 minutes later. Chase pulled from Experian while Barclays pulled from TransUnion...

Should have received a credit report for each HP with all the papers mailed from both the prime and uber. i believe it's by law.

so yes you can ask them

Well, I've not received the Uber yet... and I have no clue if I still have the papers sent with my Prime. I don't recall seeing it though... Smiley Sad

For any lending product in general, if you did not receive the best terms, there should have been some correspondence that would provide a score correlated to the approval.

Chase would have provided you a Card Acquisition Risk Score (CARS), not FICO, that would've came with your card.

Ended up calling Citi using the [ Backdoor Number ] and the lady that took my call processed the application while I was on the phone. She then proceeded to congratulate me on being approved with a $1,100 SL. 👍🏻
