I got an invitation to apply - with a set APR - to Citi Diamond Preferred. I'm thinking of applying (I like their 18 months of balance transfer at 0%), but I have all 3 credit bureaus locked.
My TransUnion report is strong (FICO 750) - with no baddies except some lates back in 2014-16 (was out of work for a while). Equifax (707) and Experian (715) still have some charge offs that will fall off this year.
I'm wondering what would make sense to do - maybe unlock TransUnion only? If I'm going to apply, I want to be approved. I live in WA state. Any idea which bureau they pull, and if they can't see one of them, would they try to HP each til they get one that works?
Depending how much you want this CC, and if you want to avoid any issues in getting approved, I would unlock all 3 just to be safe. They've been known to pull EX and/or EQ as the primary ones. Sometimes they can pull 2 of them, but YEMV.
From what I've read here on the forums, seems they like to use EX and EQ. Some members have been double-pulled and others not.
My friend received a pre-approved offer for the Citi Rewards that included a fixed APR. He app'd and was approved. They did 2 HP....EX and EQ. This was last month
Yeah, Citi can really be all over the place like the others said. For my application they double pulled EX and EQ. For a HP CLI they single pulled EQ.

Thanks all. I definitely would rather not be double-pulled, and also it sounds like it would be against my lower two credit scores/files with some past charge-offs. I'm wondering if 707 (EQ) and 715 (EX) do the trick on this card. Does anyone have any data points on what scores you need potentially to get an approval?

Citi ALWAYS double pulls me, even on denials
. Bad Citi bad!![]()
So, I decided to pull the trigger. From what I can tell so far, only a single pull - Experian. I just re-locked all 3 reports, so they can't go back and try another. Got approved for $5K. Not a big limit, but it's a start.
Is Citi pretty good about CLI's? Do they have a recon line? I'd love to have a higher limit to take advantage of their balance transfers without maxing this card out.

Congratulations on your approval! I think CLI request are every 6 month interval. Look for the SP verbiage.
Thank you! Is there a way to recon the original CL?
