I have app'd for this card 3 times in the past 2 years. All 3 denials w/o funds even being pulled from my account. At the time of all three denial my scores were between 520-540.... on 4/17 I decided to give it another try. So about 11pm I app'd for the secured card again and got the "thanks for applying, we are processing your application and will be in touch within 1 week ..." email right after... This morning 4/19 I checked my bank app and this time citi had pulled the funds from my account. About 10:45 I received an email stating that in order to continue processing my application they needed more info..." giving me a number to call. I called and was asked to verify my income and housing payment... which I did. My question is this is my 4th time applying and my score have actually dropped 443-450.... do anyone think that by them actually pulling my funds this time that I have a slight chance of actually being approved?
Can you give us some insight on your credit profile.
Also, if they are asking for more info, that is a good sign.
If they're taking your money, they aprroved you, and are just waiting for the transfer to complete before making it "official".
If you were some kind of fraudster or something, the real person could see the pending transfer for a couple days and stop it. Or your bank could stop it due to insufficeint funds, etc. if you were making a bunch of purchases all at once. Being ploddingly slow is one way banks protect themselves from you "pulling a fast one on them".
