Citibank secured card question????

I have app'd for this card 3 times in the past 2 years. All 3 denials w/o funds even being pulled from my account. At the time of all three denial my scores were between 520-540.... on 4/17 I decided to give it another try. So about 11pm I app'd for the secured card again and got the "thanks for applying, we are processing your application and will be in touch within 1 week ..." email right after... This morning 4/19 I checked my bank app and this time citi had pulled the funds from my account. About 10:45 I received an email stating that in order to continue processing my application they needed more info..." giving me a number to call. I called and was asked to verify my income and housing payment... which I did. My question is this is my 4th time applying and my score have actually dropped 443-450.... do anyone think that by them actually pulling my funds this time that I have a slight chance of actually being approved?

Can you give us some insight on your credit profile.

Also, if they are asking for more info, that is a good sign.

Re: Citibank secured card question????

Have you hear anything back?? I app'd 8 days ago and got the standard "further processing required" message. I never received an email. Funds came out of my account 3 days ago. I called yesterday and she told me it was still processing and that funds usually take 4 days to clear. I checked my credit report the night I app'd and they did a HP on experian. So I would only be left to assume my credit was ran before funds were pulled. Anyway she said I should hear from them within the week, but I'm getting anxious!

Re: Citibank secured card question????

If they took your deposit then you will be approved... congrats. I called yesterday in 4/21 which is 4 days after applying and was told my app is in its final stage! Don't no what that means but in my bank transaction it states citi secured na with the numbers 6044 which I am thinking will be my account number with them.

Re: Citibank secured card question????

The woman I talked to was very vague lol She checked to see if any further information was needed, it wasnt. And said it was "pending approval, it usually takes 4 days for funds to clear." I didn't want to seem needy, so I didn't ask if that's all I was waiting on. My account doesn't show any numbers on my bank statement from them pulling the funds. The only negatives on my report are 2 collections totaling less than $300 and 1 hard inquiry from 2.5 years ago.

Re: Citibank secured card question????

Appears on your statement as Citi NA Secured
Account fund my namexxxxxx 6604 ..... this makes me think that 6604 will be the last 4 digits of my card #, my account # ... I will follow up Tuesday because that will be a week and my application status should change by then.

Re: Citibank secured card question????

If they're taking your money, they aprroved you, and are just waiting for the transfer to complete before making it "official".

If you were some kind of fraudster or something, the real person could see the pending transfer for a couple days and stop it.  Or your bank could stop it due to insufficeint funds, etc. if you were making a bunch of purchases all at once.  Being ploddingly slow is one way banks protect themselves from you "pulling a fast one on them".
