Hi All,
I just closed on my home yesterday. I was initially looking for three cards:
- Furniture card to take advantage of the 0 interest on purchases
- Cash Back card to run all my non-mortgage living expenses through and pay off each month.
- Home improvement card for discounts on large purchases
Today, I was approved for Crate and Barrel (Synchrony) for $3500 and Savor One (CapOne) for $4,000
I wanted to get a Lowes card (Synchrony), but I wasnt sure if Synchrony would get spooked by all the apps and close my new card....any thoughts are welcome

with a strong enough profile, it's still spooky because it's Synch and I think anybody with their cards need to be ready for that reality, but not immediate review and shutdown worthy imo
I think a better question to ask, if you were Synch, would you shut you down? That's a pretty fair barometer imo
but being a reasonable person getting cards you're going to use and pay down I think you'll be fine

If Lowe's would be your 2nd Synchrony card, I am pretty sure you would be fine.
They just don't like people having many cards with them, and always asking for CLI's.
Along with other constant credit seeking behavior and escalating debt.
I think it is reasonable to apply, especially being a new home owner ...Congrats BTW.

I think you should have looked into the bofa custom cash it has a home improvement category is a great cash back card base is 3% return but can increase to 5.25% if you do biz with bofa.
