It helps tremendously as the wife has approved of a table/chair set purchase that we both like, and that I’ll probably order today. I’ll call them up - many thanks!

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

I have two Comenity cards that had been growing at a nice rate until Feb 2019 when they both hit me with a HP CLI. So i stopped asking. Today I was reading this thread and it seemed the "coast has cleared" a bit so I gave it another go. Results:

Card in question: Overstock
Open date and whether SP/SCT or HP: 6/2018 HP
Existing CL: 14500
Date of CLI: 10/2019
Amount of CLI: 2000
For each CLI, whether it was SP or HP: SP

Card in question: Wayfair
Open date and whether SP/SCT or HP:
6/2019 HP
Existing CL:
15000
Date of CLI:
10/2019
Amount of CLI:
2000
For each CLI, whether it was SP or HP:
SP

BTW, I tried for the 2X CLI, which I had gotten the past four times, but no dice.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

Those are great results - kind of backs up my wondering awhile ago if the HP CLIs are a thing once the CLs really get up there. Also makes me glad that, with my two Comenity CLs at $2500 and $5200, I’m probably a ways away from a HP on either.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

What method did you use for the CLI’s? Luv button or calling in? Looks like your wayfair was around 4-5 months old.

I have an ikea visa that’s a little older and was wondering when to try?

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

@macedwar, not sure if you’re asking me or another poster, but if it was me, go to page one of this thread - I posted the original post and also the first reply. In that first reply is my timeline of approval and CLIs. I started getting increases six months after I opened Wayfair. If you’ve had your IKEA that long, give it a shot. FWIW, I’ve done all of mine via online request.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

Opened Overstock with a disappointing $750 SL on 10/13/2019 - disappointing since my other two lines with them are much higher and perfectly maintained. But my UTI overall is higher than the ideal so I get it. I took the preapproval (which was an EX HP) because I found a dining set I wanted through them, but it would’ve maxed the card so I passed on it. I found that putting a $2500 dining set in my cart a couple days before the app had no discernible bearing on my approval that I can see, although my two others both opened at $500, so maybe there was an influence.

Regardless, OS is known to grow into a monster quickly and easily so I’m not terribly concerned. Any CLI activity to come will be documented as always in post 2 of this thread.

Why don't you call them and tell them the purpose of opening the acct. was for the purchase of the set.  I did that one time and got an increase just above the amt. I wanted.  It was on my HSN, did it with Lowe's too (different bank...but)

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

I thought about it but I’ve already ordered a different one via Wayfair, so telling them that, and then them seeing no activity from actually following through, might not be good. They get unpredictably temperamental at times as you know. I’ll hit ‘em up in a couple months for a CLI and if it’s piddly I’ll call for more since I’ll be buying a couple couches at that time.

Interestingly, upon approval I got nothing after the welcome page showing SL and congrats. No email, no account info, nothing. I had wanted to go ahead and get the card account set up online but I have to wait for it to physically arrive (which as I recall was the same as the others).

Maybe I’ll luv button them once I get it just for S&Gs and see if they bite...

DH didn't get anything on his second approval, which you remember was a big mess.  Maybe you should call.  Did you get a screenshot?

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

No but I have the account - actually just logged into the store site, threw towels in my cart, and went to Checkout. Shows my card as a payment option with the last four digits. Not worried about it, I just like having the info so I can set up the payment page and all that.
