So I've been receiving the message on my NY&CO card. Today hit 60 days from my last increase. I got the option to increase my card this time instead of the message. Well I entered my information and denied. I'll try again tomorrow just to see if I hit the button to early. If not, I'll wait to see what my letter says.

They have denied me twice, or rather the 7-10 thing.   Just hit it again today.  I am at a 0 balance and its going to stay that way until I get a CLI.

Just a FYI.

If you do not use their cards, especially store cards, then they normally also do not report to the CRA's those months.

Re: Comenity Cards

I'm a little late to the party, but have some data points I can share. I have 6 commenity cards, and get the red message instantly on two of them. I haven't really kept track of when/how often I get CLI's but some are definitely more liberal than others. All were opened with SCT.

JCrew - Opened 5/22/2015 - SL $250 - CL 13050 - $4k CLI (in $200 increments) late October, and another $4k CLI (in $200 increments) late November (I buy $30 in socks every few months.

Wayfair - Opened 10/16/2015 - SL $2000 - CL 3400 - $200 CLI last two months in a row - Bought lamps for an open house in April (only purchase)

West Elm - Opened 5/15/206 - SL $2500 - RED MESSAGE, No CLI's - Never used

Pottery Barn - Opened 5/15/2016 - SL $2500 - RED MESSAGE, No CLI's - Bought Coffee Table in October and PIF after statement cut - STILL RED MESSAGE

BlueNile - Opened 9/17/2016 - SL $1000 - RED MESSAGE, No CLI's - Never used

Williams Sonoma - Opened 10/1/2016 - SL $500 - CLI on activation to $1250, CLI Late November to $2000 - So far Monthly $750 CLI with single request each time - never used

So far the JCrew card has been pretty steady at monthly CLI's, if I remember to try for them. I get the RED MESSAGE that I'm not even eligible to attempt a CLI on three of the newer cards, but not on the newest one.

I've only tried the online CLI button. Login, Click Button, Enter Income, Click Submit, Get Cli, Log Out, Repeat until the really big Red Message appears, Receive Envelope in Mail a few days later.

HTH,

Gib

CM7 I posted about this also last week, also.   I get that on all my cards but the Overstock card.    So not just my Modells MVP Visa.  My last increase was on July 7, 2016 so it has been 4 months and 7 days so far.   Not sure what is going on.

I'm with you if they are not going to grow, I doubt I will keep them around long term.

Just a follow up to add.

I had been getting this message for about 3 weeks on Victoria Secret card but just this morning I tried and was able to get an increase from 2800-3200

Modells mvp visa still is a nogo.

I hv used the Modells the last couple months after sockdrawering for 5 to 6 months and even let a small balance report.

Vic Secret is used about every other month.

@@@@@ 12-03-2016     modells finally moved.    went from  3000-4500

Re: Comenity Cards

I am kinda regretting getting these store cards as I dont shop a lot.  I find it silly to buy something just for the sake of getting a CLI or so that they dont lower or close the account altogether!

Re: Comenity Cards

I also had the red box on my 4 Comenity accounts for the last 3 weeks or so. Just checked and 3 of the 4 are gone. Tried CLI on J Crew and approved. Still have red box on PB, but I've always had to call automated line for CLI for that account.

Re: Comenity Cards

Nothing to update yet. About the 3rd week of the month is when my Comenity bankcard Visas statement cuts again.

Store cards such as JCrew grow fairly quick as do some others on different schedules.

My first Comenity card account was of all things the Victoria Secret thru the SCT for $750. That one took the full 9 months before seeing a CLI but after that those CLI's became regular around every 4 months apart. When I closed that card after a year and (2) months the limit was $2200.

When you do decide to close any of those store cards it always looks attractive on your credit report to close them at their highest limit. So you want to not miss any opportunities to raise those limits while you have them.

JCrew was perhaps the absolute quickest to return good CLI's along the way which is helped with utilization since early on. That one is now at $25,500. It was first approved in 2014 so it's been nearly 3 years now.

The Comenity Bankcard Visas seem to be assigned a schedule of approx. every 4+ months given everything else such as scores, usage, history etc. are OK enough for them.

Of note, and later in this thread I will try and post the whole order of Comenity Cards obtained since first building up the portfolio. My first year I closed out ALL of their store cards I had except JCrew in order to focus on Prime Bank Cards instead.

Everyone has to start out somewhere and go from there.

I know how you feel...  JCrew is the only one I ever use for stuff I actually want (I always wait for the 40% off on top of clearance prices).

I'm just waiting for a couple to hit 12 months before I close them.  JCrew, Fashion Bug and Express are the only ones I'm going to keep, and that's because they are the first three I got.  Fashion Bug I just get CLI's for fun, but you can't really use it anywhere, and I'm about 20 years too old for anything at Express.  lol

Re: Comenity Cards

After Victoria's Secret card was Brylane Home, Kingsize, linensoure, Jessica London, Overstock well you get the idea.

VC started me out at as I posted $750, the others started out $500 which was a relief since I read those store cards started out with $250 for some.

Vitacost was the first bankcard version from them but they ended that sponsorship and the card accounts with them.

Needless to say after a year it was time to jettison the whole bunch in favor of their Visa Cards instead.

Re: Comenity Cards

Just reporting back in. I tried for my NY&Co CLI and got approved for $300. The red instant message is gone. I also just hit 6 months with my Victoria Secret and got an instant $300 increase. Maybe it was just a glitch or I was trying to early or maybe they're tired of sending out denials so they stopped letting us try all together when we're trying to early.
