Hi Eveyone,
Looking for a bit of advice/guidance. I'm desperate to hit Vegas in the next several months and was finally able to get a Pre-Approval for the Total Rewards/Caesars Reward Visa card. I applied and it went to review (2 days ago) so I placed a call today to the 'verification' department (backdoor #) & the Agent indicated the application was stopped cuz my report was frozen (didn't think it needed to be unfrozen for a 'soft' inquiry..........clearly I was wrong.)
So here's my question. When I contact them again and ask them to proceed (with EQ unlocked) will it result in a soft inquiry since it's in process or will it be a hard inquiry since the Agent is finishing the process? Does anyone know?
Thanks for the information.
Stay Safe.
It will be a Hard inquiry Sorry! I know when requesting a CLI sometimes it is soft pull. Good Luck on your app.
In the event the agent didn't mention it, SageStream/Innovis needs to be unfrozen as well. If you don't want delays with your application, then make sure reports are thawed. Not everything is processed via SP, even by SCT standards.

^^^This.
Comenity, like Synchrony anymore on some of their card products demand the above mentioned AND reports unthawed.
Even after gaining 3 good SP Comenity Approvals last year, one a Mastercard, upon applying after a preapproval for IKEA was denied soley citing SageStream as the reason and that we can apply again in 30 days.
Good heads up mention we all should know and remember now.
@gingerflower @It's not a CLI but rather the initial credit app. I thought when Comenity only asked for last 4 of SSN on a pre approval it was a soft inquiry?

Not necessarily. This is also based on the collective DPs that have been gathered over a period of time on a few master threads. Just in it of itself, the prompt for the last 4 of SSN doesn't guarantee it'll result in a SP approval. This has been evidenced by the same CC version you applied, Sportsman's Guide, Williams-Sonoma, Overstock, etc.
@Aspireto850 I was referring to your original credit application that it would be a hard pull. Secondly I mentioned for CLI sometimes it is a SP. This is from my experience with Comenity Bank.

@FinStar There you go being the grim reaper again! 🤣
thanks
I know right? I hate to disappoint @Aspireto850 😉
Awesome!!! @Aspireto850 How did you get it to pop up?
